Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Apprentice M. Savva (HOPETOUN STREET - 2nd) viewed the patrol footage and subsequently lodged an objection against BIZZARE ROCK being declared first, alleging interference rounding the home turn. After taking evidence from all parties and viewing the available film, stewards established that when racing to the outside of BIZARRE ROCK, HOPETOUN STREET had travelled wide rounding the home turn, however there was no contact between runners and HOPETOUN STREET was not checked or steadied at this point. Bearing in mind the distance from the finish and the margin between runners, stewards dismissed the protest and declared correct weight on the judge's numbers.
