QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORTMILES & DISTRICT AMATEUR PICNIC RACE CLUBSATURDAY 8TH FEBRUARY 2025WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Dirt (Good) RAIL – True OFFICIALSChairman of Stewards – C WarrenStewards – D MacDonaldRace 1: RESTECH SOLUTIONS / MPK BENCHMARK 50 HAMDICAP 1050m BAG OF WHIT- Underwent a pre-race examination at the barriers after contacting a gate post on exiting the mounting yard and was passed fit to start. VOULAIT- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. DEEP MYSTIQUE- Laid out rounding the home turn. Raced wide for the majority. RED NEBULA- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Slow into stride. TAKEMEOUTBACK- Laid out rounding the home turn. LIGHT UP THE DAWN- Blundered badly on jumping. Race 2: MURILLA FOODWORKS / GDL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1200mCACTUS CAN- Bumped on jumping. Laid out rounding the home turn and under pressure down the running. CASINO CAT- Bumped on jumping. Laid out round the home turn, becoming momentarily awkwardly placed on heels. KANSAS SUN- Laid in under pressure down the running, becoming awkwardly placed on heels having to be corrected near the 50m. MUMMIFICATION- Raced wide for the majority. NEWELL BEACH- Bumped on jumping. Shifted in marginally leaving the 200m, momentarily crowding CASINO CAT. App C Lowe was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Momentarily held up on entering the home straight. Laid in under pressure down the running. NYTHE- After beginning on terms with the field failed to muster the speed to maintain its position and trailed the field throughout. OUR ENDEAVOUR- Raced wide for the majority. Race 3: THE Q HOTEL / WOODAG BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1200m BELACON- As Jockey W O’Connell was unable to fulfil his engagement due to transport difficulties, Jockey D Boutet was substituted as rider of the mare. Laid out rounding the home turn and under pressure down the running. AREYA TUCHUZY- Raced wide for the majority. SENSE OF HUMOUR- Slow into stride. Commenced to race ungenerously near the 1100m when resenting the kickback in running and lost ground. Finished tailed off. LE GAGNEUR- Blundered on jumping. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. LEGISLATE- Laid in under pressure over the final 100m. MISS HELMUT- Laid out for the majority. When asked to comment on the improved performance Trainer N Hemmings advised that, the mare had been pleasing in its work and with the step down in class on a yielding surface had expected a more forward showing but was nonetheless pleasantly surprised by the winning performance. Ms Hemmings added further that, in her opinion, the mare is best suited when able to roll forward steadily in running as in todays event. Race 4: MURILLA HARDWARE SUPPLIES 2025 MURILLA CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1200mMOSCINI- Bumped on jumping. Obliged to shift wider around heels on entering the home straight. Laid in under pressure down the running. LEGEND OF ZORRO- Laid in under pressure down the running. BARNEY RABBLE- Bumped on jumping. Shifted in and away from another runner leaving the 100m. LUVIN’ OUR GRACE- Slow into stride. Laid out rounding the home turn. Raced wide throughout. DUSTINS- Raced wide for the majority. Race 5: MILES IGA / CHAPLAINS BUTCHERY BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP 1500m MINIMAL- Trainer N Keal was reminded of his obligations pursuant to LR44. Shifted in marginally approaching the 1200m, momentarily crowding runners to the inside. HOKKAIDO- Bumped on jumping and again soon after. BASIL’S BOW- Bumped on jumping and again soon after. Raced keenly near the 1100m. Laid in under pressure down the running. SAINT MARTIN- Momentarily crowded approaching the 1200m. Raced keenly near the 1000m. PRIOR THOUGHTS- Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Began awkwardly. Momentarily crowded and shifted in approaching the 1200m.
