Race 1: SEA FM Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres
1st CHINA TOWN 2nd DYNA CI 3rd FORTUNE MASCOT 4th - AMBER'S GIRL

MAGIC GLOW - Late scratching, at 11.40 a.m., due to an elevated temperature.

FORTUNE MASCOT - Resuming from a lengthy spell, was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

FORFAME - Began awkwardly and lost ground.

CHINA TOWN - Slow to begin and was crowded for room shortly after the start.

GREEN BANANAS - Crowded for room shortly after the start.

Rounding the turn near the 500 metres CHINA TOWN (Jockey A. Butler) improved onto heels, shifted out abruptly and impeded GREEN BANANAS (Jockey D. Simmons). Jockey A. Butler was reprimanded.

OUR PROMISE CI - Laid out rounding the home turn.

DYNA CI - A post-race veterinary examination of the mare, which hung out rounding the home turn and placed its rider at a significant disadvantage, did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer J. Campeao was told that prior to racing again the mare must perform satisfactorily in a trial.



Race 2: Smartstate Rentals Open Handicap - 1300 metres
1st COURT CLOWN 2nd AERIAL PING PONG 3rd OUR NEDDY BOY 4th - KNOWING ME

KNOWING ME - Slow to begin.

STOP CRYING - Slow to begin. On returning to scale Apprentice Q. Krogh reported that after being caught wide in the early stages he elected to restrain his mount to take up a position at the rear of the field, closer to the running rail. However, the mare never travelled comfortably at any stage.

OUR NEDDY BOY - When being restrained in the early stages, after allowing another runner to cross, the gelding commenced to over-race and refused to settle.

AERIAL PING PONG - On returning to scale Jockey D. Simmons reported that his saddle shifted back shortly after the start.

Race 3: Whitson Dawson Class 6 Plate - 1100 metres
1st - CHARCOAL MELODY 2nd COVENTRY 3rd KING COBIA 4th - TESTATIME

OH YEAH - Brushed the running rail passing the 700 metres.

Rounding the turn near the 600 metres CLANDISE (Apprentice Q. Krogh), which was inclined to lay out, was taken wider by OH YEAH (Apprentice M. Haley), which shifted out, resulting in BON TEMPS (Apprentice N. Summers) being hampered and taken wider on the track. Apprentice M. Haley was told to exercise more care.

CLANDISE - A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the mare was lame in the off foreleg. Trainer J. Manzelmann was told that he must provide a veterinary certificate prior to CLANDISE being permitted to race again .


Race 4: McDonald Murphy QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres
1st SHIGZAG 2nd UNI 3rd GONDWANDA BAY 4th - THAT'S WOODY

ROCKET JAY DEE - which was resuming from a lengthy spell, was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

THAT'S WOODY - Crowded for room at the start.

DORA'S MAGIC - Crowded for room at the start.

SAGALETZ CI - Crowded for room at the start.

UNI - Shifted out abruptly on jumping.

KING OF CLEAN - Was bumped shortly after the start.

SHIGZAG - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout, and raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.

Race 5: M Group Tyre and Mechanical BenchMark 60 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st STANATHOL 2nd ROYAL PHYSICIAN 3rd GYPSY SECRET 4th - KILLER WASP

MEADOW DREAMER - Crowded for room shortly after the start.

ROYAL PYSICIAN - Crowded for room shortly after the start.

STRONG WILL - Began awkwardly with its head up. Rounding the home turn was held up for clear running, then near the 200 metres was disappointed for a run and had to be shifted wider to improve.

KILLER WASP - Bumped with another runner on jumping. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

DASH OF WIZZARD - Bumped on jumping.

GYPSY SECRET - Passing the 700 metres improved onto heels and had to be steadied.

GINGA GAL - When questioned regarding the poor performance of the mare, Apprentice N. Vuille explained that her mount travelled comfortably throughout in a prominent position, however shortly after straightening weakened and was disappointing. Trainer Ms C. Marsh expressed disappointment with the performance and undertook to report back in the days subsequent.

Race 6: Mackay Toyota BenchMark 55 Handicap - 1560 metres
1st MADEMOISELLE ZARIZ 2nd RED BOHEMIA 3rd FILLE VILAINE 4th - THE CATHOLIC GIRL

THE CATHOLIC GIRL - Slow to begin.

ROCKIN' READY - Slow to begin.

MIDNIGHT SONG - Raced ungenerously in the early stages.

UNDER THE LIGHTS - Inclined to lay out rounding the home turn.

SOTTERO - When questioned regarding his mount leading today, Jockey D. Simmons explained that after beginning well the mare was able to obtain a forward position comfortably, however when another runner improved to his inside SOTTERO commenced to over-race and refused to settle in the lead.

BELLE RINGS - On returning to scale Jockey G. Watson reported that passing the 600 metres his mount weakened noticeably and in his opinion may have got its tongue over the bit. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer J. Manzelmann was advised that the mare must perform competitively in a trial before being permitted to race again.

Apprentice K. Aho was fined $300 under A. R. 137A for using the whip on UNDER THE LIGHTS on 9 occasions prior to the 100 metres, 4 more than is permitted under the rule.

Jockey D. Evans was fined $100 under A.R. 137A for using the whip on ROCKIN' READY on 6 occasions, 1 more than is permitted under the rule.
