GENERAL:

Trainer T. Cook was fined $200 under the provisions of A.R. 175(q) for improper conduct.

Race 1: Great Northern Class 2 Handicap - 1560 metres
1st STYLISH LUCK 2nd SAIL THE STARS 3rd SLIP RAIL 4th - YOU CAN'T BE

ELEMENTAL BOY - When Apprentice C. Jokic was late arriving on course due to transport difficulties, Apprentice M. Haley was substituted as rider. Caught wide without cover early. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages.

SLIP RAIL - Bumped another runner on jumping.

STYLISH LUCK - Bumped with another runner on jumping. Near the 1300 metres had to be restrained from heels.

SAIL THE STARS - Caught wide without cover early.

POUSSIN - Compounded down the running. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the mare to have bled from both nostrils. Trainer Mr W. Winters told stewards that it is now his intention to retire the mare from racing. Nevertheless, he was advised that should connections have a change of heart, the mare would not be permitted to race for 3 months, and then only after a satisfactory gallop of 1000 metres in the presence of a Steward.

Race 2: Lions Club of Mirani Sugar Valley BenchMark 60 Handicap - 1800 metres

EYE WINSOME - Prior to the commencement of the meeting trainer Mr P. Fleming advised stewards that it was the intention to have the gelding ridden in the second half of the field today. Public announcements were made to that effect and the horse was ridden accordingly. Inclined to race keenly early and weakened at the home turn.

MEADOW DREAMER - Began awkwardly and had to be restrained off heels near the 900 metres.

MADEMOISELLE ZARIZ - Inclined to race keenly early and had to be eased off the heels of another runner near the 700 metres. When questioned regarding the performance of the mare, Apprentice Haley advised stewards that he was unable to settle his mount with cover, this being the mare's first attempt at the distance of today's event, commenced to over-race when another runner improved to its outside near the 1600 metres and then had to be restrained from heels of another runner, which had gone to the front and slowed the pace near the 700 metres. Apprentice Haley said that the mare failed to respond to his riding over the concluding stages and was disappointing.

DIAMOND RACER - Was inclined to lay out throughout. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

NUDGEE - Apprentice N. Vuille dropped her whip near the 300 metres.

Race 3: Lions Club of Sarina Maiden Plate - 1200 metres
1st - CORNISH TALES 2nd FABULOUS CHILD 3rd MOCCADILES 4th - GREEN BANANAS

PALE FACE ROCKET - Slow to begin, shifted out across heels near the 1000 metres, taking another runner wider.

ITTY GITTY - Slow to begin.

ZATOCHIO - Taken wider by another runner near the 1000 metres. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Crowded between runners over the concluding stages.

FORTUNE MASCOT - Inclined to lay in near the 1000 metres and inconvenienced another runner.

GREEN BANANAS - Steadied off heels near the 1000 metres and again approaching the 600 metres. Bumped another runner soon after straightening.

MOCCADILES - Inconvenienced by another runner, which was inclined to lay in near the 1000 metres. Steadied off heels near the 700 metres. Bumped another runner soon after straightening.

MAGITORIAL - Inclined to race erratically in the middle stages, shifted in abruptly soon after straightening. Raced wide throughout.

SAVANNAH ORO - Hung out in the middle stages.

Race 4: Mackay Cup 9 July BenchMark 70 - 1300 metres
1st PRINCE DAN 2nd - QUEEN CAESAR 3rd - TESTASCANA 4th - CHOSEN SON

CHOSEN SON - Slowly away. Shifted out across heels near the 200 metres.

COVENTRY - Rider dropped his whip near the 200 metres.

OH YEAH - Tired over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was mildly lame in the off foreleg.

Race 5: - Mackay Host Lions Club QTIS 3-Y-O Plate - 1200 metres
1st CRAIGLEA WANDOO 2nd CRAIGLEA DEKEN 3rd LEGAL PROCEDURE 4th - SUPREME JET

CRAIGLEA PISTOL - Rider became unbalanced in the saddle on jumping.

Race 6: Mackay Airport Beach Races Launch 30 April Open Handicap - 1050 metres
1st MARINA SANDS 2nd SAY I WON'T 3rd CYCLONE KAN 4th - CHARCOAL MELODY

VO TREASURE - Slow into stride after making contact with the barrier upright on jumping.

MISHANI GLADIATOR - Buffeted between runners soon after the start.

STANATHOL - Near the 800 metres shifted out across heels. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

CYCLONE KAN - Near the 700 metres had to be restrained off heels.

EXECUTED - Raced wide without cover throughout.

Race 7: McDonald Murphy BenchMark 50 Handicap - 1050 metres
1st - ELSPETH'S STAR 2nd - PUBLIC AFFAIR 3rd - HIDDEN ABILITY 4th - SUPER KANGAROO

CHINA TOWN - After arriving behind the barriers dislodged its rider, Apprentice Q. Krogh, who had a harmless fall and quickly remounted, then was slowly away. When racing ungenerously near the 900 metres shifted in abruptly and brushed the running rail for a short distance.

HIDDEN ABILITY - Shifted out at the start and bumped with another runner.

SUPER KANGAROO - At the start was bumped by another runner, which shifted out.

ELSPETH'S STAR - Inclined to shift out in the straight.
