UNI - Laid out rounding the home turn. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

EMBRACE THE PAIN - When questioned regarding the performance, Apprentice C. Jokic stated that although her mount raced 3 wide, she had cover throughout the event and the gelding travelled comfortably. She said that shortly after straightening she shifted wider on the track to obtain clear running, however when placed under pressure her mount ran to the finish only fairly, as a result of the heavy impost of 61.5 kg, and in her opinion will derive benefit from today's run.

Race 3: #MACKAYPRIDE Maiden Handicap - 1050 metres
1st - ZATOCHIO 2nd GENTLY GUIDED 3rd MOONSHINE MAGGIE 4th - INSOLVENT

ZATOCHIO - Was standing awkwardly when the start was effected and lost ground. Shortly after straightening improved onto heels and had to be shifted out abruptly to obtain clear running. GENTLY GUIDED - Bumped by another runner over the concluding stages.

Approaching the 200 metres ZATOCHIO (Jockey N. Day) shifted in abruptly, despite the efforts of its rider, and made heavy contact with INSOLVENT (Jockey P. Cullen), which was taken inwards onto LA DIOSA (Jockey D. Evans), resulting in that runner shifting in onto MAGIC GLOW (Jockey D. Simmons).

GOYUNG THIEF - A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which weakened noticeably in the straight, did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr M. Dale said that, in light of the poor performance, the gelding will now be spelled and prior to racing again will be trialled.

MUSCLE TRUCK - Following the race Jockey A. Coome reported that his mount travelled comfortably in the lead throughout, however when placed under pressure was disappointing. Trainer Mr J. Manzelmann undertook to report back in the days subsequent.

LAMERICAN - When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey G. Kliese said that his mount travelled well in a prominent position, however was under pressure approaching the home turn and was disappointing. Jockey Kliese added that in his opinion the mare does not run a strong 1560 metres. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Shortly after the start ANZUS (Apprentice G. Mitchell) was bumped and carried wider, resulting in LOKUM (Jockey G. Kliese) being taken out onto the heels of QUEEN CAESAR (Jockey D. Hayse), clipping the heels of that runner and blundering.

QUEEN CAESAR - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

FAST FOCUS - Raced in restricted room in the early part of the home straight.

ANZUS - Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.

MAHRAJAAN - Was momentarily inconvenienced over the concluding stages.

When the pace slowed in the middle stages LIGHTENUFF (Jockey P. Cullen), BASHAN (Apprentice Z. White), PERFORMIA (Apprentice Q. Krogh) and CLEANSING ALE (Jockey D. Hayse) all over-raced and refused to settle.

Jockey A. Lawrence, the rider of WHAT'S YOUR SECRET, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that passing the 450 metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of COVENTRY (Jockey D. Simmons), which had to be severely checked and lost its rightful running. Jockey Lawrence was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight on 25th June 2016, up to and including midnight on Wednesday 6th July 2016.

JUST CALL ME LOUIE - Held up and unable to obtain clear running until approaching the 200 metres.

SANOSUKE - When questioned regarding her riding, Apprentice B. Grylls explained that she had been instructed to obtain a handy position, however after beginning only fairly from the widest barrier she elected to restrain her mount in an attempt to find a position closer to the running rail. She said that when the pace slowed in the middle stages her mount commenced to over-race and, rather than attempt to sustain a wide run, she elected to remain racing at the rear of the field. She added that she then placed her mount under pressure near the 600 metres and it ran to the finish only fairly.
