Stewart was delayed due to transport difficulties, Stewards permitted Jockey N. Day to be substituted as rider of the gelding. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages and refused to settle.MISHANI SILVA - Slow to begin.TINTO ELEMENTO - Shortly after the start clipped heels and blundered.DOUMBEK - Inclined to hang out throughout the race.MISHANI SHIRAZ - On returning to scale Jockey D. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the filly was lame in the near hind and off hind leg. Trainer Mr J. Payne to replace Jockey M. Haley.DIAMONDNET - Late scratching, at 11.52 a.m., by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice.ADVERTISER - At the request of its rider, Jockey D. Evans underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers, Stewards ordered the late scratching of the gelding at 1.11 p.m. on veterinary advice. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on ADVERTISER be refunded and that the following deductions apply: 4¢ in the dollar for the win, for the winner YOU CAN'T FIND ME 3¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, YOU CAN'T FIND ME 6¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, INSOLVENT 6¢ in the dollar for the place for 3rd, GENTLY GUIDEDTrainer Mr M. Over-raced in the early stages.YOU CAN'T FIND ME - After being crossed in the early stages, commenced to pull hard.Race 3: Hot FM BenchMark 65 Handicap - 2000 metres 1st - CHANGING NOTES 2nd - ALAKRIS 3rd - TIP RAT 4th - SIX BEATTIP RAT - Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room in the early part of the straight.MOSSIMO - Pulled hard and refused to settle in the early stages, and as a result was caught wide without cover.Passing the 700 metres CUPSTER (Jockey A. Lawrence) improved onto heels, shifted out and crowded TIP RAT (Jockey A. Butler). CATCH A GLIMPSE (Apprentice Q. Krogh), which was following, was hampered as a consequence.MARTHA'S MOMENT - A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which raced wide in the early stages and weakened noticeably in the straight, did not reveal any abnormalities.STREET FEVER - Rounding the home turn was held up on the heels of a tiring runner.Race 4: - Woodman's Mitre 10 Class 2 Handicap - 1050 metres 1st - BOMBER MISS 2nd - CHEERING 3rd - LADY SIOUX 4th - ZATOCHIO BOMBER MISS - Kicked out after being placed in the barriers. The mare was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Buffeted between runners at the start.MYSTIC LAD - Knuckled at the start.HEAD DRAGON - Bumped at the start. Rounding the home turn had to be steadied and shifted back to the inside when crowded for room.RED CHEVY COUPE - Raced wide throughout.MOUNTAIN LANE - Raced wide throughout.LADY SIOUX - Shortly after the start was momentarily crowded for room. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages, then had to be steadied near the 700 metres after improving onto heels. Approaching the 200 metres LADY SIOUX (Jockey G Kliese) shifted out away from CHEERING (Jockey A. Butler) and made contact with PRINCESS RHYTHM (Apprentice L. Attard, which in turn was taken out onto RED CHEVY COUPE (Jockey D. Simmons), resulting in that gelding becoming unbalanced and shifted out onto ZATOCHIO (Jockey N. Day). Over the final stages LADY SIOUX and CHEERING bumped.ZATOCHIO - Slow to begin. Shortly after straightening had to be checked after improving into a doubtful run.Race 5: Payne Print Open Handicap - 1100 metres1st - HANDYMAN BOB 2nd - ISA TALA 3rd - MARINA SANDS 4th - CHARCOAL MELODYMARINA SANDS - Was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn. SPORTING PAGE - Hung in over the concluding stages and proved difficult to ride out.Race 6: Noel Smith Class 6 Plate - 1200 metres1st - MAHRAJAAN 2nd - FLIGHT ACADEMY 3rd - PANTALETTES 4th - ANZUS EVENTIDE - Injured in the float en route to the course. Late scratching on veterinary advice at 1.45 p.m. Trainer Mr T. Button was told that he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to the mare being permitted to race again. FLIGHT ACADEMY - Slow to begin.SHE BEE STINGIN' - Slow to begin.FAST FOCUS - As the start was effected the gelding turned its head into the adjoining stall and as a result lost ground (6 lengths). Passing the 100 metres shifted out abruptly.HILLCREST - A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding, which hung out and could not be placed under pressure in the straight, did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr J. Wehlow was told that the gelding must trial satisfactorily before being permitted to race again.PANTALETTES - Was inclined to race with its head up in the middle stages, then shortly after straightening was held up and unable to obtain clear running until approaching the 200 metres.Race 7: Central Queensland Bitumen Class 3 Handicap - 1300 metres1st - LITTLE WEALTH 2nd - LAMERICAN 3rd - HOYWEDGE 4th - RISE TO FAMESAPODILLA - Rider M. Haley was advertised as being an apprentice, however he had completed his indentures on 1st July 2016 and is now a senior rider. Public announcements were made accordingly. LITTLE WEALTH - The front gates of the horse's barrier were a little slow to open.DENNIS DENUTO - Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide in the early stages.ZIZA SPIRIT - Raced keenly in the early stages and refused to settle.RISE TO FAME - Over-raced in the middle stages. When questioned regarding his riding runding the home turn and as to whether there was an opportunity to shift to the outside of DENNIS DENUTO, Jockey N. Day explained that his mount was under vigorous riding rounding the home turn and improved onto the heels of the weakening DENNIS DENUTO, and as a result was awkwardly placed.MAGGIE'S PAL - Passing the 1000 metres shifted out and bumped another runner.CANNY AND THE JET - Passing the 1000 metres was bumped by another runner.
