Race 1: Happy 30th Aaron Cook Maiden Handicap - 1300 metres  
1st - PEARLY AVENUE   2nd - LIGHTNING LORD  3rd - GENERAL BEERS  4th - WULFIES LADY

SAGALETZ CI - Slow into stride, then raced ungenerously throughout the event.
 
At the 600 metres GENERAL BEERS (Jockey K. Aho) improved to the inside of SAGALETZ CI and had to be steadied off the heels of PEARLY AVENUE (Jockey F. Edwards).
 
DIAMONDNET - Raced wide throughout the event.
 
WULFIES LADY - When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of the horse, Jockey A. Coome advised that the mare had travelled well approaching the home turn and he was confident of victory at that stage, however when asked for an effort over the final 200 metres WULFIES LADY failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing.

Race 2:  McDonald Murphy Machinery QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap - 1100 metres
1st - TINTO ELEMENTO  2nd - SAYROTHY  3rd - FABULOUS CHILD  4th - FAB FOUR
 
 
 The start was delayed when SAYROTHY was fractious in the barriers.
 
THREE HENRYS - Raced wide throughout.
 
DRAGON ROCKET - At the 800 metres raced ungenerously and lost ground.
 
Race 3: Smart State Rentals Open Handicap - 1050 metres  
1st -  CHARCOAL MELODY 2nd - NATURAL DANCER  3rd - COVENTRY 4th - KNOWING ME
 
NATURAL DANCER - The start was delayed when the mare reared in the barriers, dislodging its rider, App. Z. White. The mare was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. App Z. White suffered no injury.
 
Stewards inquired into the reason for PASSATORIO (Jockey A. Taylor) being tightened for room and checked 100 metres after the start. After taking evidence from Jockey D. Simmons, the rider of COVENTRY, Jockey A. Taylor, the rider of PASSATORIO, and Apprentice Z. White, the rider of NATURAL DANCER, stewards severely reprimanded Apprentice White for allowing her mount to shift in passing the 100 metres when not clear of PASSATORIO.
 
Race 4: -  Barcam Electrical BenchMark 60 Handicap - 1100 metres  
1st - NINETTE KAN  2nd - WHITEHOUSE AFFAIR 3rd - BON TEMPS  4th - HI MACKAY
 
GOLD RUST - Blundered and lost ground when the gates opened.
 
KILLER WASP - Slow to begin.
 
MIDNIGHT SONG - Came together with another runner at the start.
 
DASH OF WIZZARD - Came together with another runner at the start.
 
At the 850 metres THE TEENY HASS (Jockey A. Taylor) had to be steadied away from the heels of DASH OF WIZZARD (Apprentice N. Summers), which had shifted in. Shortly afterwards DASH OF WIZZARD shifted back out to a one-wide position and THE TEENY HASS improved to that runner’s inside.
 
At the 650 metres DASH OF WIZZARD (Apprentice N. Summers) allowed her mount to shift in, causing THE TEENY HASS (Jockey A. Taylor) to be checked. Apprentice Summers pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that she rode in a careless manner at that point. Apprentice Summers was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight on 11th October 2016 up to and including midnight on 19th October 2016.
 
HI MACKAY - Shifted in under pressure at the 150 metres.  
 
KILLER WASP - A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off side fore leg. Trainer W Pomfrett was advised that a veterinary certificate of fitness will be required before the horse races again.
 
 
Race 5:  Quest In Mackay Class 6 Plate - 1200 metres
1st - STRONG WILL  2nd - ROCKETTE ROCKET  3rd - BOMBER MISS  4th - YOU DID WHAT
 
MISHANI CENTURION - Slow to begin.
 
METEOROS - At the 700 metres got its head in the air and raced ungenerously for a few strides.
 
Apprentice Z White was able to claim her full 3 kilogram allowance on STRONG WILL and an announcement was made in relation to the matter.
 
Race 6: Mackay Toyota NQ Derby Handicap (BenchMark 70 -3 & 4-Y-O 1800 metres
1st - CONCA DEL SOGNO 2nd - SKELETONS  3rd - ROMANOV  4th - CALLL ME RINGO
 
SONIC BOOMER - Raced wide throughout the event. Apprentice M. Abe was reprimanded for returning to scale half a kilogram above his declared weight (A.R. 140A(iii).
 
Apprentice Z. White, the rider of CONCA DEL SOGNO, was fined $100 for weighing out without stirrup irons (A.R. 145)
