SUPPLEMENETARY REPORTS: Mackay Turf Club, Tuesday 7th November 2017:
 
Race 4: Smart State Vehicle Rentals Class 6 Plate - 1050m
 
ARTIBAI - When questioned regarding its performance Trainer J. Manzelmann indicated it would be retired from racing.
 
SABA LASS - Trainer J. Manzelmann advised stewards that on returning to the stables, a hoof abscess was detected, which may have contributed to its poor performance.

Race 1: Channel Seven Maiden Handicap - 1300 metres
 
THE SHOWMAN - Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
PETITE ELLE - Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
COMMANDING JOY - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout the event.
 
REAL LUCKY - Slow to begin.
 
HOT PROSPECT - Stewards questioned Jockey D. Sparks regarding tactics adopted on the gelding today, in particular as to why he elected to ease away from a trailing position approaching the 1000m and improve 3 wide onto the back of COMMANDING JOY. Jockey Sparks stated that his mount is one paced, was beginning to over race due to slow sectionals, and was of the opinion that it would be best suited allowed to stride forward.
 
Race 2: Payne Print Open Handicap - 1300 metres
 
EMBRACE THE PAIN - Began awkwardly.
 
Race 3:  Smart State Vehicle Rentals QTIS 3-Y-O Maiden Handicap - 1200 metres
 
L'AMOUR MALADE – Sustained lacerations en route to the course. Late scratching at 1.12 pm acting on veterinary advice.
 
CRATLOE - Was slow to begin.
 
QUATRO AMIGOS - Hampered by another runner after the start.
 
SARABAH - Over-raced and steadied from heels, between the 800m and the 700m.
 
ANA'S IDOL - Hampered by another runner after the start.
 
EDGED IN LACE - Jumped awkwardly. Raced 4 wide with no cover throughout.
 
FAIRY WINGS - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.
 
GAP THE FIELD - Jockey N. Day could not explain todays below market expectations, other than to note that it dwelt slightly at the start before mustering sufficient speed to lead.
 
KILLER LOVE - Hampered shortly after the start and hung in rounding the home turn. Stewards questioned trainer L. Wright regarding its improved performance. Mr Wright stated it had trailed well leading into today’s event and expected a good showing. Mr. Wright also added that at its previous start its jockey had an issue with the whip and reins rounding the turn which may have disadvantaged his runner, he also stated that at its only other start it had raced greenly and ran wider on the course.
 
Race 4:  S. H.Tait & Co BenchMark 60 Handicap - 1300 metres
 
HILLCREST - Over-raced in the early and middle stages.
 
CARDA MOJO - Slowly away, then held up for clear running between the 400m and the 200m.
 
MAGIC SCENE - Raced 3 wide with no cover throughout. On returning to scale, Jockey S. Sheargold reported it hung out throughout the event and he was of the opinion that the bit may have pulled through its mouth. Trainer M. Attard indicated that it would be his preference to restrict the gelding to larger circuits, where possible.
 
THE CLANG AFFAIR - Raced 4 wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 5: Q E T M BenchMark 65 Handicap -1050 metres
 
OSSENHAGEN - Fractious in the barriers and began awkwardly.
 
CLAPPERS - Held up for clear running between the 300m and the 250m.
 
LIKER - Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
LITTLE MISS ROCKER - Held up and unable to obtain clear running between the 300m and the 200m.
 
Race 6: McDonald Murphy Machinery Ratings Band 0 - 55 Handicap - 1100 metres
 
RALPH THE DRAGON - Held up and unable to obtain clear running approaching the home turn.
 
AUTHADANE - Raced wide without cover throughout the event.
 
TIME FOR LILLI - Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
FIRESTONE PHOENIX - Held up for clear running approaching the home turn.
 
GONDWANA BAY - Hung in under pressure and steadied from heels near the 250m.
 
FOREST MAGIC - Tightened for room and steadied after the start.
 
NEVAEH - Jockey C. McIver was cautioned for his whip use over the final 400m, when not in contention.
 
PAYOFF - Tightened for room and steadied after the start.
 
Race 7: Tox Free BenchMark 55 Handicap - 1560 metres
 
INFANTRY - Raced wide before obtaining a position near the 1000m.
 
RUSTY SCOOTER - Slowly away.
 
ANOTHER LISTING - Held up for clear running approaching the home turn, then was disappointed for a run and steadied from heels near the 80m.
 
MISTY ISLAND - Slow to begin.
