When questioned regarding the performance of the Filly, Apprentice E. Smith stated that in her opinion YARRALINDA failed to handle the heavy going and may have come to the end of its preparation. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery.GOLDEN GROOVE – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. CRAIGLEA MIA – Shortly after jumping away, became awkward in its stride and as a result Apprentice E. Cass elected to pull the Filly up approaching the 800m and failed to finish. A post race veterinary examination reveal the Filly to be lame in the off hind leg. Trainer K Johnstone was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to accepting for a future race or trial.CALPURNIA – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. AGUSTAWYND – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Rider C. Whiteley was fined $300 under AR132(5) for using his whip on 15 occasions in total.Race 2: KEY SOLUTIONS GROUP Maiden Handicap 1100 metresSEBERTON – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. CHEYENNE BEACH – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to a Soft (7) retrospective to race 2.Race 3: PAYNE PRINT BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1560 metresPROANE – Slow to begin. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 300m.ELLE A WALKING – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.LITTLE HUNTER – when questioned regarding the performance, Jockey A Butler could offer no explanation but was disappointed in the geldings finishing effort. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. BROMES – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and entering the home straight. Approaching the 300m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of CRAIGLEA CETINA, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Apprentice E. Cass, rider of CRAIGLEA CETINA, pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR131(a) for allowing her mount to shift ground when insufficiently clear and had her license to ride in races suspended for eight (8) days to commence midnight 23 February 2021 to midnight 3 March 2021.SOLAR PANEL – Overraced in the early and middle stages. AREE AL – Hampered on jumping away.Race 4: MACKAY HOSPITAL FOUNDATION RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1560 metresCELEBRATION DAY – Underwent a prerace veterinary examination and was passed fit to start. Shortly after jumping away became awkward in its stride and as a result Jockey Smith elected to restrain his mount out of the race. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hind leg. Trainer R Adair was advised CELEBRATION DAY would be required to present a veterinary clearance prior to accepting for a future race or trial.WITH TRUST – Was a late scratching on veterinary advice at 2.50pm after being found to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer R Binder was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to a future race or trial.RUFFIN' IT – Passing the 1050m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of COMBATTANT DE RUE which shifted in. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. ULTIMATE RING – Raced wide throughout the event.
