QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT Morven Race Club SATURDAY 11 SEPTEMBER 2021 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Good (Dirt) RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – B. King Race 1:FRED BALLINGAL & DOUG UTTING MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP– 1000m The declaration of correct weight was delayed when the rider and connections on TISANI MAGIC made application for the gelding to be declared a non-starter as it was their opinion the barrier failed to open as the start was affected. After viewing the available patrol footage, stewards were of the opinion that TISANI MAGIC was denied a fair start when the barrier failed to open, although were not able to declare the gelding a non-starter under the previsions of AR204(c) as it had been placed 3rd by the judge. BRIGHT COPPER – Hung out rounding the 700m. Jockey J. Rudd was reminded of his obligation to ride his mounts out to the end of the race. TOURMASTER – Began awkwardly. Race 2:SHERIDAN DELFORCE TRANSPORT RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 HANDICAP – 1000m The declaration of correct weight was delayed when the rider and connections of BRADDOCK DOWN made application to be declared a non-starter as it was their opinion that barrier failed to open as the start was affected. After viewing the available patrol footage, stewards were of the opinion that BRADDOCK DOWN was denied a fair start when its barrier failed to open after the start was affected. Stewards subsequently declared the gelding a non-starter under AR204(c). Stewards ordered that all monies invested in BRADDOCK DOWN be refunded with the following deductions to apply: 1 cents in the dollar for the win - #712 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #712 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #215 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #8 BLUEY’S READY – Stood flat footed and as a result tailed the field throughout taking no competitive part in the event. Hung out rounding the 700m. Stewards advised trainer G. Steele that the gelding would be required to obtain two consecutive barrier certificates prior to returning to racing. SWIFTLY MANGO – Began awkwardly STRALEX – Began awkwardly. MOVING DAY – Shifted out abruptly on jumping. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 3: MORGAN PASTORAL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200m ELITE ELIZABETH – Began awkwardly. Hung out throughout. Upon returning to scale Apprentice C. Miles advised that mare felt awkward in its action from a point leaving the 600m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. RIPOVA – Laid in over the concluding stages. ROSES FOR OLLIE – Slow to begin. Raced greenly throughout the early stages. CURIC – Began awkwardly. NICE ONE WILSON – Slow into stride. Raced wide without cover throughout. MY CHIN – Began awkwardly. SHE MEANS BUSINESS – Began awkwardly. Race 4:CURLEY CATTLE TRANSPORT BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP – 1400m The declaration of correct weight was delayed when the connections of GOLDEN TREASURE made application to be declared a non-starter as it was their opinion that the barrier failed to open after the start was affected. After viewing the available patrol footage, stewards were of the opinion that GOLDEN TREASURE was denied a fair start when its barrier failed to open after the start was affected. Stewards subsequently declared the mare a non-starter under the provisions of AR204(c). Stewards ordered that all monies invested in GOLDEN TREASURE be refunded with the following deductions to apply: 0 cents in the dollar for the win - #612 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #611 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #912 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #4 FORGED IN STONE – Began awkwardly.
