Race 3: TRUEFIT BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000m
After inquiring further into the matter, Stewards took no action against Trainer Mr. A Cameron in relation to the withdrawal of WE FOUND IT, reducing the field to three runners. In accepting Mr. Cameron’s explanation Stewards recognized that there were extenuating circumstances, and were also particularly mindful of the extreme weather conditions which had prevailed within the region in the days leading up to the race meeting.

Race 4: BURDEKIN BRAHMANS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m
OUR HUSSLER – Trainer Ms. M Young advised Stewards following the gelding’s disappointing performance that the gelding had done well in the following days and had displayed no sign of injury. Ms. Young further advised that OUR HUSSLER would be leaving her stable and would now be doing its future racing in the North Western region.

F. Wieland was advised it would now incur a lifetime ban from racing in Australia under AR53A (5)

OUR ATOM – Forced wider by another runner, which hung out rounding the home turn. Raced wide for the majority of the race.

Following the running of this race a representation of riders advised Stewards that their visibility was very poor during the running of the race and with the continuing wet weather and as such the remainder of the meeting was abandoned.
