Race 1: RAPS Surf & Turf Benchmark 65 Handicap 900 metres:
1st – FLAMINGO ROSE 2nd – ROMANTICIZE 3rd – COURT ACTION 4th – DIURNAL TIGER

When no other suitable rider was available stewards permitted Jockey S McGovern to ride ROMANTICIZE 2kg over its declared weight.

When no other suitable rider was available stewards permitted Jockey J Esser to ride KELCHEZ 2kg over its declared weight.

KING’S A STAR – Slow to begin.

KELCHEZ – Which was resuming from a lengthy spell was inspected by the clubs veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. After beginning well commenced to lose ground from the 600 metres. Jockey J Esser reported the gelding’s lack of race fitness was the cause of today’s poor performance however the gelding would benefit greatly from today’s run. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

COURT ACTION – Jockey T Hill was reprimanded under AR.137A(5)(a)(i) for striking his mount on consecutive strides prior to the 100 metres.

Race 2: Team Coghlan Class B Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – HE’S A MAGICIAN 2nd – WORLD MUSIC 3rd – SPURS ON 4th – SWITCH POINT

BLUE DANUBE was a late scratching at 3.16pm on veterinary advice en route to the barriers. When correct weight was declared it was ordered that all bets placed on BLUE DANUBE be refunded in full and all other successful bets made on the race prior to 3.16pm be subject to the following deductions of 0c win and 4c place and 2c for second place on the face value of the betting ticket.

SWITCH POINT – Due to a misunderstanding Stewards permitted Apprentice T Tincknell to replace Jockey J Esser as the rider of the gelding. Connections advised that if circumstances permitted the mare would be ridden forward in today’s event. After beginning well was slow to muster speed and settled at the tail of the field. Apprentice T Tincknell was fined $100 under AR137A for striking her mount on eight occasions prior to the 100 metres, three more than permissible under the rule.

WORLD MUSIC – A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding which returned to the enclosure with blood in its mouth revealed the gelding to have sustained a minor injury to its tooth.

Race 3: Cogo For Mayor Maiden Plate 1000 metres:
1st – MY MICHELLE 2nd – BANCO 3rd – STAR ODYSSEY 4th – FORFAME

Trainer J Morris was reprimanded under AR59A for failing to provide the Thoroughbred Identification Card for BANCO.

TOOGOOLAWAH TRUMP – Blundered as the start was effected hampering another runner.

ENVIOUS EYES – Hampered by another runner at the start which blundered.

Race 4: Schmider Engineering Group Open Handicap 1100 metres:
1st – CRAIGLEA CRUZ 2nd – CARRY ME 3rd – REVEL IN THE CHAOS 4th – FOREWARNED

WHAT THE HECK was a late scratching on veterinary advice at 3.40pm due to colic.

COOL AS HEL – Crowded shortly after the start.

Race 5: Innovar Mining Services QTIS Benchmark 55 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – CRAIGLEA SWIFT 2nd – I’M DESPERATE TOO 3rd – SUBOSAMI 4th – CHAMPAGNE FLYER

SPLASH OUT and MADAME GINOUX were late scratchings at 8.30am when no suitable riders were available.

CHAMPAGNE FLYER – Buffeted between runners at the start. Upon returning to scale Jockey T Hill reported his mount hung out for the entirety of the event and proved difficult to ride.
