Race 1: Benchmark 55 Handicap 1450 metres:
1st – DIURNAL TIGER 2nd – FRISCO JOURNEY 3rd – REQUIREMENT 4th – ROMANTICIZE

Stewards permitted Jockey S Galvin to replace Jockey A Spradau as the rider of ZATSACAT due to a miscommunication.

When no other rider was available Jockey T Chambers was permitted to ride SNAZZY SOX 1kg over the allotted weight.

SNAZZY SOX – Bumped heavily at the start and took several awkward strides. Jockey T Chambers restrained the gelding out of the race shortly after the start believing the gelding to have broken down in the front. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

POWER UP – Bumped heavily at the start.

MORE DUST – Inconvenienced when the outside barrier gate sprung back and hit the mare.

ZATSACAT – Began awkwardly unbalancing its rider. Upon return to scale Jockey S Galvin advised the gelding had hung out badly throughout the event proving extremely difficult to ride. Trainer Mr S Royes will be advised a warning will be placed on the geldings racing manners.

Race 2: Benchmark 45 Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – APERTURE 2nd – SHOW US THE WAY 3rd – DUKE’S DELIGHT 4th – TARA IRONWOOD

HONEY CAT, SO SURE, ROMANTICIZE & HIMALAYAN WOLF were all late withdrawals at 11am when no rider was available.

Prior to the declaration of Correct Weight Jockey T Chambers the rider of third placegetter DUKE’S DELIGHT requested to view the photo of the finish. After having done so she was satisfied and Correct Weight was declared on the judges placings.

DUKE’S DELIGHT – Bumped at the start.

SHOW US THE WAY – Bumped at the start.

TARA IRONWOOD – Began very awkwardly and commenced to race greenly in the early stages.

Following the running of this race and attempted remedial work on barrier five Stewards advised Starter Mr P Inwood that the barrier should be left vacant for the rest of the meeting.

Race 3: Maiden Plate 1000 metres:
1st – BEA BINGLE 2nd – LACH’S POCKET 3rd – TIME AND CHANCE 4th – MISS BEAUJOLAIS

POTHOLES was a late withdrawal at 11am when no rider was available.

When no other rider was available Jockey A Spradau was permitted to ride BEA BINGLE 1kg over the allotted weight.

SCHOONER – As the start was effected the gelding was sitting back on the barrier gates and then began very awkwardly. For some distance after the start raced with it’s head in the air and refused to settle.

IMPERFECT – Laid in down the back straight. Upon returning to the enclosure it was found the gelding had blood present in its nearside nostril. A veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have received an external trauma.

NORTHERN FLASH – Jockey T Chambers was reprimanded under AR137a for using her whip on the gelding six times prior to the 100 metres, one more time than permissible under the rule.

Race 4: Open Plate 1100 metres:
1st – FIVE O’CLOCK 2nd – AVALANCHES 3rd – SERENE ROCKET 4th – MINTARO

When no other rider was available Jockey K Ballard was permitted to ride SERENE ROCKET 2kg’s over the allotted weight.

SERENE ROCKET – Slow to begin.

AVALANCHES – Shifted in abruptly at the start.

Race 5: Class 3 Plate 1200 metres:
1st – REGAL CONSERVE 2nd – SUBOSAMI 3rd – FLAMINGO ROSE 4th – AZUSA

OMEGA – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride.

HOUSE RULES – Tailed the field throughout and weakened even further over the concluding stages finishing some 30 lengths last. Trainer Mr K Krogh was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for being uncompetitive and future starts would be monitored.
