Race 1: A Big Thanks To The Previous Committee Maiden Plate 1200 metres:
1st – MADE TO WIN        2nd – AMERICAN AT SEA       3rd – VEGANER             4th – NORTHERN FLASH
 
MADE TO WIN – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
 
NORTHERN FLASH – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Near the 700 metres was hampered by another runner which was inclined to lay in.
 
AMERICAN AT SEA – Was inclined to lay in for a short distance near the 700 metres and down the running.
 
SMILING MISTRESS – Was wide on straightening.
 
Race 2: A Warm Welcome To The New Commitee Class B Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – INFINITE SUCCESS                      2nd – FAST TRACK MAGIC                   3rd – POTHOLES          4th – MUSCAT
 
MUSCAT – Was slowly away.
 
LUCKY APACHE – Was slowly away.
 
INFINITE SUCCESS – Was wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 3: Now Taking Melbourne Cup Day Bookings Benchmark 50 Handicap 1450 metres:
1st – FRISCO JOURNEY             2nd – MORE DUST        3rd – BY EMTEEARE      4th – CARRY TO GOLD
 
CARRY TO GOLD – Slipped at the start and lost ground. Jockey D Ballard advised Stewards that the gelding, which raced below market expectations, had , in his opinion, failed to back up after a hard run at Cloncurry the previous week.
 
DASHING DUB – Was slowly away. Was wide without cover throughout.
 
MORE DUST – Was inclined to race keenly in amongst runners in the early stages.
 
EXTRA – Was wide without cover for the majority.
 
Race 4: MIRC Make Us Your Xmas Party Destination Benchmark 60 Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – I’M DESPERATE TOO         2nd – HEAD DRAGON              3rd – SPARKLING VIXEN          4th – APERTURE
 
HAPPY SHOPPO – Was wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 5: CNW For All Of Your Electrical And Data Needs Open Handicap 1100 metres:
1st – TRAVEL IN STYLE              2nd – MOSSALE         3rd – WHISPERING DEATH       4th – MURRUMBIDGEE
 
MOSSALE – Shifted in abruptly on jumping and inconvenienced another runner. Jockey S McCullum pleaded guilty to a charge of excessive whip use under the provisions of AR137A. Stewards suspended Jockey McCullum’s licence to ride in races for a period of 10 days to commence at midnight October 15th  2016 up to and including October 25th 2016.
 
SNAZZY SOX – Was slowly into stride after being inconvenienced by another runner on jumping. Jockey J Kropp advised Stewards that the gelding had been reluctant to stretch out and had raced ungenerously due to resenting the kickback.
 
CARRY ME – Was slowly into stride. Was wide without cover throughout.
