GENERAL
Race 1. VALE GEORGE TIPPING MAIDEN PLATE 1100m
IRON ONE – Slowly into stride after beginning awkwardly.
THE KELLY GANG – Slow to muster pace in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority.
MISHANI VIRTUE – Commenced to lose ground passing the 500m. Finished tailed off. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery rate.
SPURCIFIC JOURNEY - Raced wide for the majority.
SHADOW SNOW - Raced wide for the majority.
Race 2. SUNSET BUTCHERY BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1000m
HI ZERO – Shifted wider near the 800m in an attempt to avoid the kickback in running. Jockey J Felix reported the gelding raced ungenerously in the middle stages.
GUMNUTS – Raced wide for the majority.
SEVEN YEAR REWARD - Raced wide for the majority.
Race 3. COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN HANDICAP 1000m
DOOM – Slowly into stride after beginning awkwardly.
WICKED WIKI – Inconvenienced on jumping.
GOLD BRACELET – Shifted wider near the 800m in an attempt to avoid the kickback in running, and raced wide from that point. Jockey J Babarovich reported the mare, which was having its 1st start on the sand surface had never travelled comfortably at any stage.
TEDDY MERCURY - Raced wide for the majority.
Race 4. COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE QUALIFIER / SPRING CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1450m
QUIDNI – Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority.
LOUD ENOUGH - Slowly away. Raced wide for the majority. Jockey D Ballard reported that in his opinion the significant differential in today’s handicap weights had been a telling factor in today’s event. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Jockey Ballard who displayed symptoms of mild heat stress immediately post-race, declared himself fit to fulfil his remaining engagement.
Race 5. LORD DERBY STAKES QTIS CLASS 3 PLATE 1200m
LEAVE ME ALONG – Very slowly away after beginning awkwardly. Raced ungenerously throughout taking no competitive part in the event.
