QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT MOUNT ISA RACE CLUB MOUNT ISA SATURDAY 11 MAY 2024 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – DIRT / GOOD RAIL – True Entire Course OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – D. GriffithsSteward – R Prowd. General: The following horses were withdrawn at 12 noon due to no available rider -:Race 1 Snapoutofit (NZ), OnthetakeRace 2 Speedy Macho, Kiss Goodbye, Craiglee AltonaRace 5 Montreux, Golden Eighty, Northern Girl Scratchings: Race 4 Primal Scream Race 5 Far Reaching Race 3 – Dunners was a late scratching at 2.30 p.m. (No available rider). Race 1: BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP - 1450m ZOOMARATA – Raced ungenerously in the middle stages and lost ground. FORSETI- Slow to begin and raced wide thereafter. Tired over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Race 2: MAIDEN PLATE 900m EGALITE– Slow to begin. INALA ALTICUS – Slow to begin and then ridden hard to maintain the lead. Jockey J Barbarovich report that his mount brushed with BENDOLIRRA making the home turn and lost some ground. QUEEN’S ARMS- On returning to the enclosure Jockey J Baker was distressed and required Ambulance attention. After being examined Jockey J Baker was transported to the Mount Isa Hospital for further observations. A full medical clearance will be required before Jockey Baker is permitted to ride again. Race 3: BENCHMARK 0- 60 HANDICAP 1000m STAR MIDFIELD – A pre race veterinary examination passed the gelding fit to race. DUNNERS- Was a late sctractching at 2.30 p.m. following J Baker being indisposed and no other available rider. MERSEY GIRL- Slow to begin. LE WEASEL- Shifted out under pressure over the final 300 metres. WHITE RIBBON- Was extremely fractious in the mounting enclosure and refused for some time to progress to the start. Trainer D Ballard was advised that a final warning was issued . Race 4: OPEN PLATE 1100m FAB’S COWBOY – A pre-race veterinary examination passed the gelding fit to race. THERESABEARINTHERE- Jockey J Hoopert replaced nominated Jockey J Baker. Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. LE FORCE- Slow to begin. REBEL SALUTE- Jockey M McDonald was permitted to ride the gelding 1.0kg over the allocated weight when no other rider was available. Race 5: BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1000m SHOOT BIG- Slow to begin.Raced wide from the 600m. DEFINITELY FAMOUS- Raced wide from theturn out of the back straight. WOLF POINT- Jockey J Babarovich replaced nominated Jockey J Baker. SUNVALLEY DREAMING- Underwent a post race swab.
