Race 1: DEB FRECKLING MP MAIDEN PLATE- 800M

Correct weight was delayed when App. S.Lacy, the rider of ALL HYPE, made an application to have her mount declared a non-runner. After viewing the patrol footage stewards determined ALL HYPE gate did open marginally slower then the rest of the field and as such declared the gelding a non runner, with all monies invested on ALL HYPE to be refunded, with the following deductions. 12c win and 11c place. Starting prices subject to deductions.

MISS LAZARETTO – Attempted to buck shortly after the start. Trainer S. Mcewan was advised that the filly must obtain a barrier certificate prior to racing again.

SESANCHO – Slow to begin.

SAYKRID LADY – Eased from heels leaving the 700m.

LITTLE ALBERT – Raced wide throughout.


Race 2: NANANGO TOURISM & DEVELOPMENT ASSN./REMEMBERING MICK’S LUCK Class 1 H'CAP – 1000M

CALGARY –Shortly after the start was tightened between runners.

MAN OF LAW – Raced wide throughout.

LIMERICK STAR– Raced wide throughout.

NUG’S POCKET - Raced wide throughout.


Race 3: MCDONALDS KINGAROY QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M

Start of race was delayed when MANNY SUGESTIONS dislodged it rider and galloped for a short distance. Jockey S. Bayliss was cleared to ride by QAS. The gelding undertook a veterinary examination behind the barriers and was cleared to start.

ABBEY DAZZLER – Slow to begin.

MAJOR BO – Raced keenly leaving the 800m. Held up for clear running from the 200m until the 100m.

HE’LL BE RIGHT – Raced keenly leaving 800m. Jockey B.P. Appo was fined $100 for excessive use of the whip prior to the 100m.

CITY MARKET – Held up for clear running from 200 until 150m.


Race 4: HUSTON NISSAN B’MARK 60 H’CAP – 1200M

DALIWOY BAY – Gelding hit its head in the tie-up stalls. Underwent a veterinary examination prior to the start and was cleared to race. Began awkwardly.

I DO CARE – Began awkwardly.

LUCKS IN - Raced wide throughout. Apprentice Keal, rider of I DO CARE, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that over the concluding stages he allowed his mount to shift in whilst under competitive riding, resulting in a tightening to runners to his inside, that being LUCKS IN, SIMPLY SHOWTIME and STRATALENA resulting in the riders of all horses having to take hold of their mounts at this stage. Apprentice Keal was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days, to commence at midnight, 20 August and to expire at midnight, 27 August.

CHILLDOWN - Raced wide throughout.

MINTO’S LASS - Raced wide throughout.

CARRY THE DRINKS – Post race vet examination revealed that the gelding bled both nostrils. Trainer J. Hearne was advised that the gelding would be ineligible to race for a period of 3 months and must complete a 1000m gallop to stewards satisfaction prior to racing again.


Race 5: XXXX FITZROY HOTEL NANANGO CUP OPEN H’CAP – 1600M

TAMPERE - Raced wide throughout.

Race 6: BENDIGO BANK CLASS B H’CAP – 1600M

LE CHACAL- Hampered shortly after the start and lost ground.

MS SARANDON – Raced in restricted room near the 1300m when tightened for room to the inside of MANGO TANGO and M’SIEUR MONTPELIER whom laid in to avoid the runner to its outside being TE KULA KAHA whom shifted in marginally.
