Riding Changes:
When Apprentice I Rabjones was indisposed due to personal reasons Stewards permitted the following replacements as per the Stewards summary;

When Jockey F Edwards was stood down by the clubs doctor after being dislodged in race 3 Stewards permitted the following replacements as per the Stewards summary;

Race 1: Harbourside Cold Stores/Sweeter Soils/Red Salon Basalt Maiden Plate 1000 metres:
1st – LUNAR LUCK 2nd – RAINING DOLLARS 3rd – OH GOLLY 4th – BALL TEARER

ROSE OF SURREY – Refused to load into the barriers and was a late withdrawal at 12:47pm. Subsequently Stewards ordered that all bets made on ROSE OF SURREY be refunded in full and all other successful bets made on the race prior to 12:47pm be subject to the following deductions of 5c win and 6c place on the face value of the betting ticket. Trainer Mr B Hayes was told that prior to racing again he must obtain a further barrier certificate.

BALL TEARER – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost ground.

RAINING DOLLARS – Laid in under pressure in the straight.

MOLONGLE JOY – Was hampered passing the 100m.

Race 2: Entello Group Nimmo Plate Class 3 Plate 1000 metres:
1st – PRIME SHADOW 2nd – GUEPARDO 3rd – ZINDZELA 4th – SWEET AS A ROSE

FOUR JAYS – Raced wide throughout.

Race 3: Murphy Memorial ‘Vice Presidents’ Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – TROPICAL SPIRIT 2nd – STANDFORD 3rd – MR RAINMAKER 4th – FLIGHT TO GLORY

STANDFORD – Slow to begin.

ME AND YOU – Raced keenly in the early stages.

BLUE DANUBE – Was inclined to lay out rounding the first turn near the 1000m resulting in the saddle shifting and ultimately Jockey F Edwards being dislodged passing the 800m. Jockey F Edwards was examined by the club doctor and stood down from his remaining engagements. Riding replacements were made as per the Steward’s summary.

SPURS ON – Passing the 800m was carried wider by another runner.

Race 4: Tuff N Camp ‘Ladies Bracelet’ Open Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – STIEG 2nd – WHITSUNDAY EXPRESS 3rd – BALUSTRADE 4th – THE BEST

THE BEST – Slow to begin.

BESIEGED – Raced 4 wide no cover throughout.

STIEG – Passing the 100m apprentice N Yadi accidentally dropped his whip.

CARRY ME – When questioned regarding the poor performance Jockey I Fry explained that CARRY ME was unusually agitated behind the barriers and never travelled comfortably throughout. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant abnormalities.

Race 5: Collins Family/Undara/Topx/Longreach ‘Fulford Plate’ QTIS Benchmark 55 Handicap 1400 metres:
1st – DRAGON HART 2nd – SET TO POUNCE 3rd – VENCEREMOS 4th – MISHANI PAGAN

DASH OF BLACK – Slow to begin.

PRESSUM – Apprentice K Aho reported that her mount resented the kick back.

BEADSWORTH – Bled from both nostrils. Trainer Mr T Rowe was told that as this was its first occurrence the gelding would now incur the mandatory 3 month ban from racing under AR53A and that prior to racing again it would have to trial or gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward.

Race 6: Collins Family/Undara/Topx/Longreach ‘Fulford Plate’ QTIS Benchmark 55 Handicap 1400 metres:
1st – KISSER 2nd – CRAIGLEA FOCUS 3rd – DON’T TELL PETE 4th – JOKES ASIDE

SPIN AGAIN – Slow to begin.

CRAIGLEA FOCUS – Slow to begin. Shortly after straightening had to be steadied and shifted back to the inside when disappointed for a run.
