QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT PRAIRIE RACE CLUB PRAIRIE - SATURDAY 12TH AUGUST 2023 WEATHER – FINE TRACK RATING – Dirt RAIL – TRUE OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – P. WarrenStewards – C. BewClerk of Scales – StewardsJudge – B. ClimieVeterinarian –L . Harriman Starter – C. Rogers General: As the following runners had competed at Mackay on the 8/08/2023, all underwent a pre- race veterinary examination and were cleared to start Race 2 – Absolute Legend.Race 3- Private Sector.Race 5 – Supreme Prince Race 1: COLEMAN STOCK FEEDS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE (1000m) DON’TSTOPLAUGHING – Declaration of correct weight was delayed allowing Jockey D Sparks, rider of 3rd place getter DON’T STOPLAUGHING, to view the photo finish. After viewing the official photo, jockey D. Sparks was satisfied with the results and correct weight was declared on the judges’ semaphored numbers, slow into stride, raced wide majority. MYZAH – Shifted out abruptly at the 800m severely hampering runners to its outside, despite the efforts of its rider. Incline to hang out throughout the race. Trainer B. McGuire was advised a warning would be placed on the geldings’ racing manners. Rider D. Smith lost his whip at the150m . ADASHAN – Had to be steadied when tightened for room approaching the 800m when MYZAH shifted out abruptly. MISHANI PLATINUM – Raced wide the majority. CRACKLE CAUSE – Bumped heavily at the 800m when MYZAH shifted out abruptly. Race 2: G J WEBBER MOBILE AUTO ELECTRICAL Benchmark 45 Handicap (1000m) WICKED CHANCE – Slow to begin. VALIANT KNIGHT – Rider reported the gelding didn’t handle the condition of todays racing surface .a post- race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. WHITTY’S DREAM – Slow into stride ,Raced wide majority. ABSOLUTE LEGEND – After the running of this race evidence was taken from starter C Rogers and jockey Ms N .Seymour regarding the gelding racing in pre-race ear muffs . Both were reprimanded pursuant AR227 (1)(a) in that they were negligent in failing to ensure that the pre-race ear muffs were removed at the start .Raced wide majority. SPOTTED WONDER – Raced wide majority. Race 3 : WINDLAB BENCHMARK 55 Handicap (1200m) CRAIGLEA ALTONA – Permission was granted to race without hind bandages at the trainers request. Began awkwardly. ONTHETAKE – Raced wide majority. FAR REACHING – Raced wide majority. DOOM – Raced wide majority. Race 4 : ADDEX GROUP BENCHMARK 45 Handicap (1400m) MILKY ROCKET – Raced wide rounding home turn . MISHANI REBOUND – Slow to begin ,raced wide majority. DUBAI EAGLE – Began awkwardly. LAUDEYLOU – Raced wide majority. CHOOKY CHEERLEADER - Underwent a pre - race veterinary inspection on arrival at the start and was a late scratching on veterinary advice at 3:32pm when found to be lame in the offside hind leg . On the announcement of correct weight, all monies invested on CHOOKY CHEERLEADER were ordered to be refunded with thefollowing deductions applicable to all bets prior to 3:32pm 16 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets and 14 cents in the dollar on the face valueof all place bets . Trainer Lachie Manzelmann was advised that the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start. SIZZLING SUN – Was a late scratching at 3.09pm on veterinary advice after being fractious in the race day tie up stalls and injuring herself suffering minor lacerations. On the announcement of correct weight all monies invested on SIZZLING SUN were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all bets prior to 3:09pm 16cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets and 14 cents in the dollar on the face value of all place bets. Trainer Ms N .Nelson was advised SIZZLING SUN would required a veterinary clearance prior to being permitted to start in a race . Race 5 : LESLIE BODE MEMORIAL PRAIRIE CUP BENCHMARK 65 Handicap (1400m) LOUIE THE LEGEND – Blundered on jumping slow into stride. TYCOON BABY – Raced wide majority. DANAWI – Slow into stride. A CALL FROM HEAVEN – When rider D. Ballard was question regarding the mare’s poor performance, he felt that the mare was travelling well to the home turn but when asked for an effort failed to respond to his riding. A post -race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have soreness in the near front hoof possible stone bruiseTrainer J. Manzelmann was advised the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to being permitted to start in a race.
