Race 1: McDonalds Family Restaurant QTIS 2YO Handicap - 1100 metres
1st CRAIGLEA KALBAR 2nd SMALL WORLD 3rd URULOKI 4th - VICORAY

When Jockey T. Bannon was delayed arriving on course, Jockey N. Patchett was substituted as the rider of SMALL WORLD.

MOHAN SCENE (L. Dillon) jumped out at the start.

At the start VICORAY (J. Stephens) slipped behind, began awkwardly and lost ground. A post-race veterinary examination of VICORAY revealed the filly to be lame in the off hind leg. Trainer V. Vagg will be advised that he must furnish a veterinary clearance prior to VICORAY being permitted to race again.

Race 2: Tony Madden Architects & Interiors Open Handicap - 970 metres
1st TONK 2nd YOU DONE IT AGAIN 3rd DON'T YOU WORRY 4th - DROSTE

Trainer A. Tassone was reprimanded under L.R.67 for failing to declare Jockey D. Hayse as the rider for DROSTE by the prescribed time.

DROSTE (D. Hayse) was a little slow to begin.

Leaving the 800 metres BILLIE BLUE GUM (App. A. Kitson) laid in, then for a short distance afterwards raced in restricted room to the inside of CARRY THE CLUBS (J. Stephens) and was steadied.

Jockey L. Dillon was fined $200 under A.R. 140B for excessive use of his whip on DON'T YOU WORRY.

Race 3: Travelodge Rockhampton Maiden Handicap (1) - 1050 metres
1st HARDCOVER 2nd SOUTHSIDE 3rd AL GHAZI 4th - PINANZA

When Jockey D. Simmons, the declared rider for DEEKAYEL, was indisposed, Jockey T. Bannon was substituted as the rider of the gelding. Jockey Simmons was advised that he must provide a medical clearance prior to being permitted to ride again.

The start was delayed when the near hind plate on SOUTHSIDE (L. Dillon) had to be re-fitted and the broken breast plate on JOSIE'S WELL (App. D. McWhinney) was replaced.

SOUTHSIDE (L. Dillon) jumped outwards at the start.

VATICAN'S STAR (N. Patchett) blundered badly on jumping.

Near the 500 metres HARDCOVER (App. A. Kitson) shifted out and bumped PINANZA (App. C. Pye).

Leaving the 500 metres RISANI (J. P. Stanley) laid out, and continued to do so for the remainder of the straight.

Near the 200 metres HARDCOVER (App. A. Kitson) rolled in, resulting in PINANZA (App. C. Pye) having to shift to the inside of HARDCOVER.

CRYSTALS'N'PEARLS (D. Hayes) raced wide throughout.

Race 4: Hastings Deerings Maiden Handicap (2) - 1050 metres
1st STRATEGIC GLORY 2nd MARCHALDEE 3rd ME FAST TOO 4th - APPEASER

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer M. Barnham for the late declaration of T. Bannon as the rider of APPEASER.

The start was delayed when the off hind plate of TENT HUMOUR (App. D. McWhinney) had to be re-fitted. TENT HUMOUR was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field.

At the request of rider App. B. Appo, BLACK BOOKER underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers and when found to be lame in both forelegs, the mare was declared a late scratching at 2.31 p.m. Stewards ordered that all bets made on BLACK BOOKER be refunded in full and that the following deductions apply:

17¢ in the dollar for the win for the winner, STRATEGIC GLORY
14¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, STRATEGIC GLORY
18¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, MARCHALDEE
16¢ in the dollar for the place for 3rd, ME FAST TOO

Trainer D. Stafford was advised that he must furnish a veterinary clearance for BLACK BOOKER prior to the mare being permitted to race again.

Shortly after the start, SPINIFEX WARRIOR (App S. McCullum) commenced to buck and took no further competitive part in the event. Trainer R. Meek was advised that the gelding must perform satisfactorily in 2 jump-outs over at least 800m in race day gear prior to its next race start.

At the start APPEASER (T. Bannon) shifted in and made contact with ME FAST TOO (T. O'Hara), which was taken in onto BAGINIQUE (App. S. McGovern), which began awkwardly.

ROUGH AND RECKLESS (App. C. Pye) was slow to begin.

Near the 700 metres ROUGH AND RECKLESS (App. C. Pye) laid out and made contact with BAGINIQUE (App. S. McGovern), which became unbalanced and was taken out onto TENT HUMOUR (App. D. McWhinney).

TENT HUMOUR (App. D. McWhinney) raced wide throughout.

Race 5: Stage & Audio Benchmark 65 Handicap - 1600 metres
1st CHINRUB 2nd MCFERRIN 3rd FOREVER MORE 4th - FRED ASTAIRE

JAMESON AICH (T. O'Hara) was slow to begin.

At the start GLASS HALF FULL (App. A. Kitson) jumped out and lost ground.

In the early stages FRED ASTAIRE (T. Bannon) over-raced.

NOSTOPPINTHEMUSIC (App. B. Appo) raced wide until near the 1100 metres.

Leaving the 600 metres CHINRUB (A. Coome) became awkwardly placed on the heels of MCFERRIN (J. P. Stanley), which rolled in slightly, and was shifted in to obtain clear running.

Near the 50 metres MCFERRIN (J. P. Stanley) laid in under pressure, resulting in FRED ASTAIRE (T. Bannon) having to be steadied.

Stewards sought an explanation as to the instructions and tactics employed on NOSTOPPINTHEMUSIC. App. Appo stated that he had been instructed to obtain a position midfield with cover, however after beginning well and being caught wide in the early stages he proceeded to go forward and take up a position outside the leader. Trainer T. Button confirmed the instructions. The explanations were noted.

Race 6: Stay a Little Longer Class 5 Handicap - 1200 metres
1st PICAWINNER 2nd MISTABLISTA 3rd LADY PANIA 4th - CLICK UP

Near the 700 metres PEE JAY QUE (App. A. Kitson) improved up on the heels of HARVZEE (T. Bannon) and had to be restrained.

Leaving the 500 metres CLICK UP (App. A. Taylor) rolled in and made contact with STREETFIRE (D. Hayse), which was taken in and made contact with PEE JAY QUE (App. A. Kitson).

PICAWINNER (App. D. McWhinney), MARMILLION (App. B. Appo) and CLICK UP (App. A. Taylor) raced wide throughout.

Following the running of this race the track rating was upgraded to a Dead (4) retrospectively.

Race 7: Mel Slade KNM Insurance Class 1 Plate - 1200 metres
1st BALLROOM DANCE 2nd VOLTURNUS 3rd FOMALSTAR 4th - SEISIA

Trainer J. Pointon was fined $100 under A.R. 54 for presenting CONTO with other than its approved gear, namely with blinkers and pacifiers,

SEISIA (App. K. Gates) and SUITE ANNIE (N. Patchett) made contact at the start.

MASAYA (App. S. McGovern) stood flat-footed at the start and lost considerable ground. Trainer K. McGovern was advised that he must obtain a further barrier certificate for MASAYA prior to its next race start.

For a short distance near the 200 metres OUTBACK BABE (App. C. Pye) laid out.

At the 200 metres FOMALSTAR (App. C. Jokic) shifted out slightly and inconvenienced BALLROOM DANCE (App. B. Appo), which was taken wider and hampered STAR GIGGLE (App. D. McWhinney).

THE BOSS (T. Bannon), STAR GIGGLE (App. D. McWhinney) and ARCANO (App. J. King) raced wide throughout.

Upon returning to the horse stall area, MOON GUIDE collapsed and died from a suspected heart attack.

Race 8: XXXX Gold QTIS 3YO Handicap - 1100 metres
1st PYGMY HUNTER 2nd CRAIGLEA TEQUILA 3rd HIDDEN PRAYER 4th - I GET EXCITED

Stewards accepted the explanation tendered by trainer M. Barnham for the late declarations of rider for FERO HAY and HOUDINI GIRL. App. K. Gates was substituted as the rider of HOUDINI GIRL.

The start was delayed when Apprentice C. Jokic was dislodged from CEDARSTAR during its preliminary. As Apprentice Jokic was injured and unable to fulfil her engagement, stewards ordered the withdrawal of CEDARSTAR at 5.07 p.m. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on CEDARSTAR be refunded in full and that the following deductions apply:

2¢ in the dollar for the win, for the winner PYGMY HUNTER
3¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, PYGMY HUNTER
4¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, CRAIGLEA TEQUILA
6¢ in the dollar for the place for 3rd, HIDDEN PRAYER

The start was delayed when OUR LUCILLE (App.A. Kitson) proved difficult to load into the barriers.

At the start, HOUDINI GIRL (App. K. Gates) shifted out and made contact with MUM SAID NO (D. Hayse).

MUM SAID NO (D. Hayse), HOUDINI GIRL (App. A. Gates) and SUSPICIOUS MISS (L. Dillon) raced wide throughout.
