Race 1: DC MOTORS QTIS TWO-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1100 metres
1st UNCANNY REASON 2nd MISS SCHIFFER 3rd OVERLOAD 4th - CHEEKY RED

OVERLOAD - Difficult to load into the barriers. Near the 900 metres laid in, despite the efforts of its rider, taking GIDGEE COALS (App. B. Appo) in onto CHEEKY RED (Jockey A. Coome) and FABULOUS CHILD (App R Payne) to be crowded and eased. Raced wide without cover throughout.

TWO OF A KIND - At the start shifted in onto CRAIGLEA PUMA (App. J. Orman).

GIDGEE COALS (App. B. Appo) jumped inwards at the start, taking CHEEKY RED (A. Coome) in and causing FABULOUS CHILD (App. R. Payne) to be hampered between CHEEKY RED and CAPE HALIFAX (J. Stephens), which shifted out. GIDGEE COALS then raced wide without cover.

CRAIGLEA PUMA- A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding was displaying a slow recovery rate.

FLAT TO STACK - Difficult to load into the barriers. Began awkwardly and lost some ground. Leaving the 900 metres raced greenly and had to be restrained from the heels of another runner. Near the 800 metres, shifted out and away from another runner.



Race 2: CHARLIES PEST CONTROL BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP - 1600 metres
1st CLEANSING ALE 2nd RADIANT JOY 3rd BASHAN 4th - MYTHOLOGIST

CLEANSING ALE - For a short distance leaving the 1300 metres raced ungenerously.

BASHAN - From near the 1200 metres until the 900 metres was inclined to lay out.

Race 3: XXXX GOLD MAIDEN PLATE Set Weights -1300 metres
1st SUPER TUSCAN 2nd IL PADRONE 3rd OUR GIRL CHARLOTTE 4th - CAFÉ QUEEN

ACCEPTING - Stepped back as the start was effected and lost ground.

GLADISHING- Jumped in at the start, taking CAPTAIN ADRIATIC in onto ROCKIN' HIPPY causing CAFÉ QUEEN to be hampered.

COOPERS CREEK - Raced wide without cover throughout.

URBAN SPACEMAN - Near the 1100 metres shifted in onto GLADISHING, which became awkwardly placed on heels and had to be eased.

IL PADRONE - Passing the 1000 metres improved onto heels and had to be eased.

ARGENTINA LAD - Jockey J. Stephens was fined $200 under A.R. 137A for using his whip on the gelding 9 times more than is permitted under the Rule.

ROCKIN' HIPPY - A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had a strain of the near fore tendon. Trainer J. Pointon reported that he will be retiring the gelding. Nevertheless, he was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance prior to the gelding being permitted to race again.

Race 4: 2016 RACING GALA BALL - SAT 2 APRIL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP - 1050 metres
1st OUTBACK SAGA 2nd EMBRACE THE PAIN 3rd SMUDGER 4th - SHEPIKTUS

GOHARDASUN - When being loaded into the barriers the gelding became fractious and kicked the rear of the barriers on numerous occasions. Stewards ordered the late scratching of the gelding at 2.59 p.m. acting on veterinary advice. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on the gelding be refunded and that the following deductions apply:

9¢ in the dollar for the win for the winner, OUTBACK SAGA
5¢ in the dollar for the place for the winner, OUTBACK SAGA
7¢ in the dollar for the place for 2nd, EMBRACE THE PAIN
18¢ in the dollar for the place for 3rd, SMUDGER

Trainer C. Smith was advised that he must furnish a barrier certificate prior to the gelding being permitted to race again.

OUTBACK LIGHTNING - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

Race 5: TOOHEY'S EXTRA DRY CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1400 metres
1st KLISSTRA 2nd BARON REES 3rd BEYOND 4th - RESET OUR WORLD

TRAVELLIN' BAND - The start was delayed when the gelding got its off hind leg up in the barriers. The horse was removed from the barriers, examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field.

MAXADRAMA - Apprentice L. Tilley was fined $200 under A.R. when he was unable to claim his full allowance. Slow to begin. At approximately the 1000 metres improved up onto heels and had to be restrained.

CUPSTER - Slow to begin.

BEYOND - Slipped behind and sprawled on jumping.

POUSSIN - Took a number of awkward strides shortly after the start and lost some ground. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

Race 6: HAHN 3.5 QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP - 1200 metres
1st - DUAN OSCAR 2nd - CASINO THOUGHTS 3rd - SHROUDED 4th - ABITAZAR

CASINO PUSSY - Slow to begin.

ATLANTIS CITY - Bounded in the air at the start and lost ground.

DUDOOMP - At the start made contact with another runner and lost some ground.

CRAIGLEA PISTOL - Contacted by another runner at the start. Raced wide without cover throughout.

CRAIGLEA DEKEN - Raced wide with cover throughout.

DUAN OSCAR- Near 900 metres, eased when another runner shifted in marginally.

CASINO THOUGHTS - Momentarily held up for clear running near the 200 metres.

Race 7: 100 CLUB SPONSORSHIP - EXPERIENCE THE EXCITEMENT
CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1200 metres
1st - REAL DUCHESS 2nd - DENNIS DENUTO 3rd - MUSCOVY 4th - MYSTIC LAD

POINT LEO - Difficult to load into the barriers. Began awkwardly.

DENNIS DENUTO - After being placed in the barriers was removed and the barrier blanket re-fitted. Slow to begin and bounded in the air.

SAMMY SPARROW - Began awkwardly and lost some ground.

MYSTIC LAD - Raced fiercely for the majority of the event whilst leading.

MUSCOVY - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

THE EUNUCH - Raced wide without cover.

SIMPLY SHOWTIME - Raced wide without cover throughout.

BILO BAR - Raced wide with cover throughout.

REAL DUCHESS- Near the 400 metres, shifted out and took THE TEENY HASS outwards. Rider was issued with a reprimand.
