Palmer SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT: Saturday 25th June 2016: Race 4: Stewards opened an inquiry into an incident that occurred near the 100 metres, when Jockey D. Hayse was dislodged from CHARCOAL MELODY. After taking evidence from the riders and viewing of the patrol films, it was established that near the 200 metres CHARCOAL MELODY shifted out and made contact with KUAIMA (Jockey D. Simmons), at which time Jockey S. Sheargold's shifted in and tightened that runner. CHARCOAL MELODY shifted back in onto FAST FOCUS (App. Q. Krogh), which near the 150 metres which was racing ungenerously, shifted out and at the same time CHARCOAL MELODY laid in which caused it to clipped heels, blundered and Jockey Hayse to be dislodged. As Stewards could not attribute responsibility to one rider, no action was taken in regard to Jockey Hayse being dislodged, however Jockey Sheargold was reprimanded. --------- Race 1: Stockland Rockhampton Cup E&G Class 1 Handicap - 1050 metres 1st- KING TORIO 2nd - WORTH THE TIME 3rd - SPURSONIC 4th - BEST HURRAH SAMMY SPARROW - When the start was effected, the gelding refused to jump and took no part in the race. Trainer T. Button was advised that he must obtain 2 barrier certificates prior to the horse's next start. JUST LIKE ERROL - When it was discovered that Jockey Sheargold had weighed without irons, he was reweighed. After taking into account mitigating circumstances, Stewards reprimanded Jockey Sheargold. Slow to begin and raced 3 wide without cover. Race 2: McGrath QTIS 3YO Handicap - 1400 metres 1st - QUICK AND EASY 2nd - CHEEKY RED 3rd - CRAIGLEA EVELYN 4th - CRAIGLEA GHETTO MIM'S POET - Began awkwardly. When questioned regarding the performance Jockey C. McIver stated that the horse was disappointing. He said that he placed his mount under pressure at the start but was hampered near the 1200 metres, failed to travel well throughout and did not respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities, other than that it may have been in season. CRAIGLEA GHETTO - Jockey S. Sheargold reported that his saddle slipped forward shortly after the start, placing him at a disadvantage throughout. QUICK AND EASY - Near the 1000 metres shifted out to avoid the heels of CRAIGLEA GHETTO and CHEEKY RED was taken wider. CRAIGLEA EVELYN- Apprentice White used her whip on 2 more occasions that permissible. Race 3: Seven News Maiden Plate - 1400 metres 1st - HELLUVA HOFFA 2nd - PRINCE OF BARODA 3rd - HAYYLER'S FELL 4th - BENTOTA DEBBIE’S DREAM- Declared a late scratching at 8.30am due to no available rider. FASTNET STORM- When placed in the barriers, reared. Horses was removed and underwent a veterinary inspection, cleared to start. TAKE A CHANCE- Slow into stride. GENERAL BEERS- Slow to begin. ABE’S BABY- Raced wide until positioned outside the leader near the 800 metres. LORD RUSSEL – Near the 1100 metres, when over-racing on the heels of another runner, shifted out. Apprentice Q. Krogh was reprimanded regarding the use of his whip on the horse on 3 more occasions than permitted under the Rule. Stewards took into account his good record regarding the rule. HELLUVA HOFFA - Stewards ordered that the horse must remain on course for two hours following the event for further post- race swab samples to be obtained.HAYYLER'S FELL - Shifted out under pressure from the 200 metres. Apprentice White used her whip on the horse on 2 more occasions that permissible. For breaches in Race 2 and 3, App. White was reprimanded. Her good record was taken into account. SENORITA ROSITA – Near the 1100 metres, over-raced. Momentarily held up for clear running near the 400 metres. PRINCE OF BARODA - Jockey S. Sheargold pleaded guilty to a charge under A.R. 137A (3) for excessive use of the whip. Jockey Sheargold was fined $200. Race 4: Adlec Electrical Services F&M Class 1 Handicap - 1200 metres 1st- GIVEN WINGS 2nd - SAINTLY PRO 3rd - DECALI 4th - HYPER DRIVE WEREMEMBERZENNETH - Stewards accepted the explanation for the late declaration of App. D. Evans as rider of the mare. Raced wide with cover. DECALI - Raced wide with cover. NEOPHYTE - Stood flat-footed at the start and was slow to begin. HYPER DRIVE - Slow to begin. DANCE HALO - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. FOREST GAZELLE - Raced wide without cover throughout. DRAGONMOSS - Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages. Race 5: Carly Mae Pye Memorial BenchMark 70 Handicap - 1050 metres 1st PANTALETTES 2nd - NINETTE KAN 3rd - ZIZA SPIRIT 4th - HAZARD BAY EDGE AWAY- Declared a late scratching due to no available riders. STOP CRYING - Slow to begin. TOP ROYAL Slow to begin. Raced wide with cover. ZAHA EXPRESS - Slow to begin. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. OSSENHAGEN - Leaving the 400 metres bumped with PANTALETTES (App. Z. White), which had improved into a run. OSSENHAGEN shifted out and caused PRINCELY (Jockey A. Coome) to be eased. PANTALETTES - Apprentice Z. White was fined $200 under A.R. 137A for using her whip on the mare prior to the 100 metres on 4 more occasions than permitted under the Rule. Race 6: Veuve Clicquot @ Callaghan Park Class 2 Handicap - 1400 metres 1st- ATARARTZI 2nd- COLD BLOODED 3rd- MUNJIZ 4th - DOUBOS ATARARTZI - The start was delayed when the gelding was presented in the enclosure with incorrect gear. Stewards will interview trainer T. Button at a later date. At the start I AM BRUSE (Jockey S. Sheargold) and MONTANA HERO (Jockey D. Hayse) were tightened for room between LUCIFER'S ANGEL (App. D. Evans) and BARON REES (Jockey A. Taylor), both of which shifted ground. ROETHLISBERGER - Slow to begin. MONTANA HERO - Raced wide with cover. I AM BRUSE - Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. LUCIFER'S ANGEL - Raced wide with cover. COLD BLOODED - Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight.
