Butler was reprimanded for being overweight on SNOOZE. Stewards also reviewed the current weight embargo on Jockey A. Butler of 56½ kilograms. Stewards, in agreement with Jockey Butler, have raised this weight to 57 kilograms. Given the health concerns of weight-loss related incidents, Stewards will not permit Jockey Butler to ride under 57 kilograms. Race 4 – Trainer O. Cairns was fined $100 for presenting FABULOUS CHILD to the enclosure with incorrect gear (Blinkers). GENERAL Stewards conducted a random raceday stable observation at Trainer T Button’s on course stables. Stewards attended from early morning until horses engaged for Race 1 arrived on course. Race 1: J.A.F. Electrical Solutions QTIS Two-Years-Old Class 1 Handicap 1050m MATE’S RATES – Shifted ground under pressure in the straight. Apprentice E. Smith was reminded of her obligations under AR. 137A(5)(a)(ii) with regard to the use of the whip prior to the 100m. WICKED GRIMSHAW – Turned its head as the start was effected and as a result was slow to begin. Had to be steadied and lost ground at approximately the 900m. LADY BEC – J. Stanley reported that his mount may have been shin sore. TAMBO’S VIXEN – At approximately the 900m shifted in and away from RUBY GEORGIE and WICKED GRIMSHAW had to be steadied and lost ground. Shifted out near the 500m when racing greenly, resulting in WICKED GRIMSHAW shifting out and away. N. Day lost his whip inside the final 100 metres. Race 2: UBET BenchMark 65 Handicap 1400m PICK OF THE PUBS – Overraced in the early stages and from the 1100m pulled itself forward to race behind the leader. Race 3: Linemac Toyota Maiden Handicap 1400m STRADIFY – Stewards opened an inquiry into the horse’s performance and the riding of jockey D. Evans. Evidence was taken from trainer S. Rundle and Jockey Dale Evans and the matter was adjourned to a date and time to be fixed. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no soreness, some bruising to the corners of its mouth and some blood in its mouth. THE SHOWMAN – Inclined to lay in over the concluding stages. GOLD CROWN – Raced wide without cover throughout. Race 4: Nick Daley Plumbing Open Handicap 1100m COURT CLOWN – Jockey W. D’Avila was found guilty of a charge under AR.137A(5)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on more than 5 occasions, that being 9 occasions, prior to the 100m and was fined $200. MISS ANNA – Brushed with another runner on jumping. TINTO ELEMENTO – Trainer P. Fleming was fined $100 for the late declaration of N. Seymour as rider. Brushed with another runner on jumping. Race 5: 4 Mile Spelling & Agistment/Benix Equine Dental Class 3 Plate 1200m DIAMOND DISTRICT – Began awkwardly. TAKINGS – Lunged forward immediately prior to the start and when the start was effected was slow to begin. MYSTIC FORCES – Bumped near the 100m. N. Seymour was stood on by his mount in the placegetter’s stall in the enclosure and was able to be weighed in. However, Jockey Seymour was stood down from his remaining engagements. Jockey Seymour he will be required to produce a medical clearance prior to his next rides. Riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary. TIME OUT – Jumped in the air at the start. Made contact with MYSTIC FORCES near the 100m. Raced in restricted room to the winning post. Race 6: Become A Club 150 Member Class 6 Handicap 1050m Prior to the declaration of correct weight, trainer D. Reynolds and Jockey L. McCoy (MUSIC SCENE) viewed the available patrol films with regard to the whip use of jockey N. Day (STARANTE) with a view to lodging an objection on those grounds. Following the review of the patrol films, they did not proceed. KING COBIA – Raced wide without cover throughout. HELLUVA HOFFA – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start being effected. Race 7: 2018 Capricornia Yearling Sales Sunday 8 April BenchMark 55 Handicap 1300m SAN SEVERO – A little slow to begin. LIGHTNING JACKSON – A little slow to begin.
