Race 1: Wade Hunt IT Open Handicap 1400m
 
SHEER PERSISTENCE – Began awkwardly.
 
 
Race 2: Mark Bunt Menswear QTIS Two-Years-Old Maiden Handicap 1050m
 
ATTIQUE – Proved difficult to load. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horse regarding its barrier manners.
 
WICKED GRIMSHAW – Began awkwardly. Hung in under pressure over the final 200m.
 
ISIS JECTALE – Began awkwardly.
 
CRAIGLEA HAILEE – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
ROCKETHEAD – Tightened for room inside the final 150m.
 
STEELZ TIME – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
 
Race 3: McGrath Rockhampton & Capricorn Coast Maiden Handicap 1200m
 
STRADIFY – Connections advised that it would attempt to race in a more forward position.  The horse was ridden accordingly.
 
DOOGUS – Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
DELCETTO SYRAH – Hung in under pressure over the final 250m.
 
DON’T CHEAT CHARLIE – Raced wide with cover.
 
MILALBA – Raced wide without cover.
 
 
Race 4: Southside Holiday Village BenchMark 65 Handicap 1600m
 
MAC’S METTLE – Began slowly. Inconvenienced near the 500m, resulting in its rider, becoming unbalanced.
 
RUBY RAY – Slowly away.  Contacted the rail near the 500m, unbalancing its rider, then swung wider on the course and contacted another runner.
 
ALOOF’S TURF – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
RESET OUR WORLD – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 5: Capricorn Survey Group Pty Ltd Class 1 Handicap 1300m
 
CENTENARIO - Stewards delayed the declaration of correct weight to review the footage of the start and ensure that CENTENARIO, which reared as the gate opened, was afforded a fair start.  Subsequently once satisfied stewards declared correct weight. Reared, as the start was effected making heavy contact with the barrier and lost considerable ground. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
 
DONAVIA – Slow to begin. Held up approaching the 600m.
 
SAMBA RIO – Steadied when tightened near the 100m.
 
DANTIEN – Shifted in and hampered another runner near the 100m.  Jockey, Q. Krogh was cautioned and advised to exercise greater care in future.
 
 
 
 
Race 6: The Giddy Goat Class 1 Handicap 1050m
 
YEEZY – Steadied from heels when over racing near the 700m. Made contact with the running rail near the 600m.
 
TESSINO – Jumped away awkwardly and raced wide without cover.
 
STAR BOLT – Hung in and steadied from heels near the 350m.
 
STAR PICKET – Inconvenienced by a tiring runner near the 300m.
 
RED RUNNER – Raced wide without cover.
 
BEL’S IMPACT – Raced wide without cover.
 
STARENA – Tired noticeably over the concluding stages.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from a respiratory condition. Connections were advised it would be required to undergo an endoscopic examination, with the results forwarded to stewards, as well as the provision of a veterinary certificate prior to its next race start. 
Stewards questioned jockey W. D’Avila regarding the tactics adopted in the early stages of the event. Recent form would indicate that it had been racing with cover. Jockey D’Avila explained his intention was to make use of today’s favourable barrier and look for a position behind the leader. After jumping on terms with runners to his inside he continued to ride forward in an attempt to find a position however, could not clear and was then obliged to race without cover. Stewards, after consideration noted his explanation.
 
 
Race 7: XXXX Gold Class 4 Handicap 1400m 
 
MONO LAD – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
UNCANNY REASON – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
AUSSIE TYCOON – Bumped by another runner near the 300m.
 
TAKINGS – Over raced in the early stages.
 
CHAIN THE GATE – Jumped awkwardly, unbalancing its rider.
 
MISHNAH – Hung in near the 300m, making contact with another runner.
