As jockey L. Tilley was indisposed, rider changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.

Race 1: Wade Hunt It BM69 H’cap – 1600m
 
MISHNAH – Jumped away awkwardly. Rider J. Orman could off no explanation for the disappointing performance of the horse. A post race veterinary examination revealed a poor post race recovery.  Trainer J. Wehlow was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to the horse racing again.
 
HULK HENRY – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
GYPSY BIKER – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
 
Race 2: Empire Apartment Hotel H’cap – 1200m
 
CONCA DEL SOGNO – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
MR PHENOMENAL – Hampered on jumping away. Overraced in the early and middle stages, and in the vicinity of the 800m had to be restrained after improving on to the heels of CONCA DEL SOGNO. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
HELLUVA HOFFA – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
 
Race 3: Charlies Pest Control Class 5 H’cap - 1300m
 
EXTREME WITNESS -  Slow to begin. In the vicinity of the 400m was obliged to shift wider to improve into clear running.
 
SWINGAHINCH – Rider J. Stephens reported his mount laid in in the early stages.
 
ZATORIO – In the vicinity of the 800m was obliged to steady to avoid the heels of SWINGAHINCH.  Jockey M. Stephens, rider of SWINGAHINCH, was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future. In the vicinity of the 400m was obliged to shift wider to improve into clear running.
 
 
Race 4: Bill Reid Racing QTIS 3yo H’cap – 1100m
 
GOLDEN TREASURE – Correct weight was delayed  to allow trainer T. Cook and jockey R. Stewart to view the films in relation to the start.  After viewing the films jockey R. Stewart made a submission for GOLDEN TREASURE to be declared a non-runner after its gates failed to open with the rest of the field.  Acting under Australian Rule of Racing 204, stewards declared GOLDEN TREASURE a non-runner with the following deductions applicable.
 
1 cent in the dollar on the face value of win bets
4 cent in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
5 cent in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
5 cent in the dollar on the face value of  3rd place bets
 
RED SATIN – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
BOSS BABY – Hung out rounding the home turn. Raced wide without cover throughout the event. 
 
WHITTY GIRL – Raced wide throughout.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly had bled from both nostrils. Trainer L Rowe was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
 
 
Race 5: SMW Group Maiden H’cap – 1200m
 
NORTHERN INSTINCT – Underwent a veterinary examination after being replated behind the barriers and was passed fit to start.
 
ZABRING  – When questioned  regarding the horse leading in today’s event, jockey J. Orman stated his intention was to settle midfield in today’s event but after jumping well rather than restrain his mount to take up a midfield position, elected to make use of his early gate speed and lead. Stewards noted his explanation.
 
GRANT ALIBI – Slow to begin.
 
BUB’S GOLD – Stewards permitted D. Graham to ride her mount half a kilogram over her allocated weight.  Raced wide without cover throughout. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
LOVE’S BETS HOPE – Jumped way awkwardly and shifted out abruptly.
 
 
Race 6: South Geldard Lawyers Class 3 Plate – 1100m
 
CASH STRAPPED – Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
TONTEIN – Slow to begin.
 
A LITTLEBITTAMAGIC – Slow to begin.  In the vicinity of the 400m was obliged to steady to avoid the heels of DOOM, which shifted in and away from MISS DE MIRAGE, which shifted in. Jockey B. Pengelly, rider of DOOM, and Jockey J. Orman rider of MISS DE MIRAGE, were reminded of their obligations to stop riding and straighten their mounts when they shift ground in future.
 
MISS DE MIRAGE – Held up for clear running in the vicinity of the 400m and was obliged to shift in to improve into clear running.
 
BOOM – Laid in under pressure in the straight. In the vicinity of the 400m shifted in and away from MISS DE MIRAGE.
 
 
Race 7: XXXX Gold Spring Racing Carnival Class 1 H’cap – 1400m
 
CELOSIA – When questioned regarding the performance, jockey R. Stewart advised that his mount began to weaken on entering the straight, and was disappointing in the mares finishing effort.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
GLADISHING – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
FINUCANE MISSILE – Overrraced in the early and middle stages.
 
HARBOUR SKIES – In the vicinity of the 400m was momentarily inconvenienced by CELOSIA, which was carried out by ULTIMATE GOLD, which shifted out.  Jockey N. Thomas, rider of ULTIMATE GOLD, was reminded of his obligations to be clear when shifting ground in future.
 
MAN OF ENVY – Momentarily inconvenienced in the vicinity of the 400m.
 
MISS SMINKER – Held up for clear running in the vicinity of the 400m until the 200m.
