Williams Race 1: CARLTON & UNITED BREWERIES Maiden Plate 1500 metres Gold Chorus – Slow to begin. Latin Prophet (NZ) – When questioned in relation to the performance, Jockey A Butler could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance of the gelding. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Rock Ready – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Sudden Suspect – Slow to begin. Bel's Desire –Overraced in the early and middle stages. Carried in passing the 400m by ROCK READY, which laid in under pressure. Caddy - When questioned in relation to the performance, Jockey N Thomas added that the mare failed to travel at any stage of the event but believe CADDY would derive benefit from today’s run and in his opinion may be better suited to racing over shorter distances. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Race 2: 2 CLUB 150 MEMBERS Maiden Handicap 1200 metres Croesus – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 200m after being brushed and carried wider by GIRL ON TOP. One More Field – Slow to begin. When questioned in relation to the performance of the gelding, Jockey B. Pengelly stated he could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Girl On Top – Hung out when placed under pressure in the straight. Yufcalledcharlie – Raced wide throughout the event. Race 3: GREAT NORTHERN CRISP QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1200 metres Blue Jacket – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Boudica's Gift – Laid in during the early stages of the event. Apprentice A Ross was fined $500 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m, three more than permitted. In determining penalty, stewards took into account that this was Apprentice Ross’ sixth offence in the past 12 months. Calpurnia – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 4: CANADIAN CLUB LAWN PARTY BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1050 metres Tabatha Miss – Was declared a late scratching at 2.15pm on veterinary advice after becoming fractious in the barriers Deductions applicable to bets placed on winner and the placegetters prior to 2.15pm as following: Win Bets Charles Seven - 3 centsPlace Bets (For Winner) 4 centsPlace Bets (For 2nd) Miraculous - 8 centsAll monies bet after the Stewards' declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of ticket.Trainer J Manzellman was advised that TABITHA MISS would be required to pass two consecutive trials prior to accepting for a future race start.Elle a Walking – Hampered passing the 900m by QUART POT, who was carried in by KAHAYLAAN, which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey N Day, rider of KAHAYLAAN, was reminded of his obligations to be clear when shifting ground in future. Kahaylaan – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages. Laid in throughout the event. Following the running of this event Jockey R. Wiggins was examined by the Queensland Ambulance Officers and was stood down from his remaining engagements. Replacements were made as per the stewards race day summary Race 5: ST PETER'S CAULFIELD CUP RACEDAY - SATURDAY 16 OCTOBER RATINGS BAND 0 1050 metres Grand de Lago – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Moriconi – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after competing in the past seven days and was passed fit to start. Raced wide throughout the event. Rockshore – Jumped away awkwardly. Following the running of this event Jockey A Butler was examined by Queensland Ambulance Officers and was passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements. Race 6: CHRISTMAS AT CALLAGHAN PARK Class 6 Handicap 1500 metres Battle Plane – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Srini – Slow to begin. Tezoff – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Coach – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after competing in the past seven days and was passed fit to start. Became awkwardly placed on heels pacing the 100m. Rider C. Eaton was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted. In determining penalty, stewards took into account that this was Jockey Eaton’s fifth offence in the past 12 months. Race 7: VEUVE CLICQUOT GARDEN PARTY Class 1 Handicap 1500 metres Blackboots – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight and had to shift out to improve into clear running. Blonde's Day Out – Laid out rounding the home turn. Moonshiner – Jumped away awkwardly. Jockey A Spinks reported that the gelding failed to let down and weakened noticeably over the concluding stages. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Chloe Jade – hampered shortly after jumping away. Lets Torque A Deel – Hampered shortly after jumping away. Race 8: CAPRICORN SURVEY GROUP PTY LTD RATINGS BAND 0 - 65 Handicap 1300 metres Velaro – Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 500m after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of ARCHER’S TREASURE. Mocial Chief – Approaching the 1000m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of ARCHER’S TREASURE which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey A. Ross, rider of ARCHER’S TREASURE, was reprimanded under AR131(a) and reminded of her obligations to be clear when shifting ground in future. Double Em – Refused to jump and took no part in the race. Trainer T Cook was advised that DOUBLE EM would be required to gain a further barrier certificate prior to accepting for a future race. Crazy Good – Was declared a late scratching at 4.43pm on veterinary advice after dislodging its rider in the mounting enclosure and striking the fence.
