RACE 1 WILLIAM’S HALL QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000m

BENEVOLENT LAD – Trainer M. Goodwin was fined $100 for the late addition of blinkers to the colt’s gear. Jumped awkwardly and blundered, almost unseating the rider. Jockey L Appo reported that in his opinion the horse did not appreciate today’s sand surface.

WINDSOR CASTLE - Bumped a runner to its outside on jumping away.

SEACITY - Raced wide without cover throughout.

NOTHING VENTURED - Tightened for room on jumping away & lost ground.


RACE 2 STATHAM CHEESMAN BENCHMARK 55 HCP 1000M

The start of this race was delayed when App. S. Noble was dislodged from STAR SYSTEM. Apprentice Noble was uninjured.

STAR SYSTEM - Began awkwardly and raced very greenly for the first 50 metres.

FONDA DE LUCRE - Inconvenienced when another rider shifted out at 950m.

LINDERHOF - Shifted out slightly and bumped another runner in the first 50m.


RACE 3 MORGANS FINANCIAL / BENTLEYS CLASS 3 PLATE 1200M

BERNIN LOOSE - Struck the running rail at the 800m.

MORE FAVULOUS – Failed to muster speed in the early stages.


RACE 4 CARLTON MID OPEN HCP 1200m

OGGIE - Slow into stride.

SMOOTH TALKER - Jumped in the air at the start striking Appr S Noble in the face with its head. Contacted the running rail at 800m. App. Noble reported that SMOOTH TALKER did not feel comfortable on the sand surface.

BRADY ‘N’ ME - Raced wide without cover.

DOCTOR DAVID – Saddle shifted forward at the 800m placing jockey S Apthorpe at a disadvantage from that point.


RACE 5 TOPX BENCHMARK 45 HCP 1200M

Prior to Race 5 App. S Noble was examined by the ambulance officers after sustaining an injury to the left side of her jaw and was subsequently stood down from her remaining ride. App. Noble was advised she will need to produce a medical clearance prior to riding again.

FRISCO – S Egan replaced App. S. Noble as no apprentice was available.

KHAPTIVATA – Trainer C. Smith was fined $100 for failing to produce the ID card for the gelding. Eased from heels near the 1000m.

WASHER- Began awkwardly and then raced greenly inside other runners and struck the running rail at both the 900m and 500m.

SUNSET REEF - Slow to begin.
