RACE 1: THAT’S NOT A RABBIT MAIDEN PLATE 1000M

FLAMBOYANT MISS - Was declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 1:10pm acting on veterinary advice after the mare was found to be lame in the near fore leg. Upon the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on Flamboyant Miss be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
First – 0 cents the win and 12 cents the place
Second- 8 cents the place

NOTHING VENTURED – Slow to muster early speed and lost ground.


RACE 2: HOT CROSS BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000M

GOHARDASUN - Was declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 2:15pm after the gelding was unable to be loaded into the barriers. Upon the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on GOHARDASUN be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
First – 3 cents the win and 18 cents the place
Second- 17 cents the place

Trainer Craig Smith was advised that he will be required to obtain a further barrier certificate for GOHARDASUN prior to it next racing.

PLATTERS – Bumped at the start and lost ground.

POLAR BLITZ – Bumped at the start and lost ground.

MONTANUS – Began awkwardly.

TALKING NONSENSE – Laid out during the middle stages of the event.


RACE 3: NOT JUST AN EGG HUNT BENCHMARK 45 HANDICAP 900M-

THAT’S THE PLAN – Was declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 11:10am after trainer R. Cloherty notified Stewards that he would be un able to attend today’s meeting due to transport difficulties.

I GOT TRIX – Apprentice N. Morton was reprimanded for using her whip in consecutive strides prior to the 100m.


RACE 4: BILBIES BEAT BUNNIES QTIS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200M-

BREATH OF LIFE – Stood flat footed in the barriers and lost considerable ground. Trainer B. Johnson was advised he will be required to obtain a further barrier certificate for the gelding prior to it next racing.


RACE 5: DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1640M-

MORE FAVULOUS- Was declared a late scratching by order of the stewards at 4:10pm after the gelding was unable to be loaded into the barriers. Upon the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on MORE FAVULOUS be refunded with the following deductions to apply:

First – 18 cents the win and 24 cents the place
Second- 26 cents the place

Trainer Donald Baker was advised that he will be required to obtain a further barrier certificate for the gelding prior to it next racing.

SIALIA MAGIC – Raced wide during the early stages.
