McLachlan was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Bled during the event. Trainer J. McLachlan was advised that the horse would be barred for 3 months from racing. BRIGADIER SAM – Declared a late scratching at 6.30 pm after becoming fractious in the barriers and sustaining significant lacerations to the near side stifle. All monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable. 3 cents in the dollar for the Win #113 cents in the dollar for place of winner #113 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #46 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #9SP bets are subject to deductionsTrainer B. Smith was advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided prior to its next race start. BOCAGE – Slow to begin. Improved onto the heels of TE KULA KAHA approaching the 1400m and had to be steadied. Raced wide throughout.AHMAH STAR – Held up passing the 500m behind the weakening MAN ON THE MOVE.PARIS BY NIGHT – Held up rounding the home turn. TE KUILA KAHA – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Jockey L. Londregan was fined $200 for returning to scale in excess of half a kilogram of his declared riding weight. ELUSIVE ELEMENT – Jockey D. Griffin was fined $300 for using his whip more than 5 times prior the 100m. YANKEE FLYER – A post race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal recovery rate. Race 2: Estate Planning Maiden 4yo Plate – 1200m HEROIC ROCK – Slow to begin. Had to be steadied away from the heels of ZARFASTAR approaching the 300m. MANDRILLE – Slow to begin.PROSVEGAS –Raced 3 wide without cover. A post race veterinary examination revealed a slower than normal recovery rate. MADDY’S GIRL - Had to be steadied leaving the 300m from the heels of DADDY LONGLEGS, which shifted out. Apprentice H. English, rider of DADDY LONGLEGS, was reprimanded for allowing her mount to shift out. ZARFASTAR – Steadied near the 800m when obliged to avoid heels. B. Stewart, rider of MANDRILLE, was reprimanded for failing to give sufficient clearance when crossing. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. WIG WAM BAM – Apprentice M. Murphy was fined $300 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. Race 3: Conveyancing Works Class 1 H'cap – 1400m The start was delayed when THEOPOLY broke through the barriers. The horse was quickly restrained and took its place in the field. MONSIEUR GUSTAVE – Slow to begin. Jockey D. Griffin pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137A for excessive use of his whip prior to the 100m. Bearing in mind jockey Griffin’s poor record, and that he had previously breached this rule tonight, his licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 1 week, to commence at midnight, 23 March and to expire at midnight, 30 March. AUDELLA – Slow to begin. Jockey M. Hellyer was fined $200 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m. FUKU RIU – Began awkwardly. Inclined to hang out for the majority of the race and as a consequence raced wide throughout. BALDY HOST – Had to be steadied from the heels of TAMBO’S HEART near the 1200m. THEOPOLY – Raced greenly in the home straight and shifted wider on the track leaving the 300m. Race 4: Slater And Gordon Group Class 1 H'cap – 1000m SURPRISE RESULT – Trainer T. Cotsiopoulos was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. MYSTIC OPAL – Change of tactics. Connections advised that the horse would be ridden midfield with cover if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. BLOOMIN’ ELUSIVE – The start was delayed when the horse became fractious in the barriers and as a result was declared a late scratching at 8.02 pm on veterinary advice. BECCA THE JET – Began awkwardly. Had difficulty securing clear running in the home straight and leaving the 100m was disappointed for a run and obliged to shift in to obtain clear running. RED WARNING – Slow to begin.DAM WONDERFUL – Began awkwardly and shifted in, bumping MEET GEORGE JETSON. Hampered when tightened for room shortly after the start. Apprentice M. Murphy pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137A for excessive use of his whip prior to the 100m. Bearing in mind apprentice Murphy’s poor record, and that he had previously breached this rule tonight, his licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 1 week, to commence at midnight, 20 March and to expire at midnight, 27 March. MEET GEORGE JETSON – Bumped at the start. A post race veterinary examination revealed cardiac arrhythmia. Connections advised that they must produce the results of an ECG, and the horse must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start. RIGHT ADVICE – Inconvenienced upon straightening when awkwardly placed at the heels of WONDERFUL TALE. Raced 4 wide without cover. CLAIRE DELORES – Inconvenienced passing the 200m. RAPID ARROW – Inconvenienced passing the 200m. Raced 3 wide without cover. RUNWAY ANGEL – Hampered rounding the home turn when taken wider by MYSTIC OPAL. Raced wide throughout. WONDERFUL TALE – Race wide throughout. Race 5: Commercial Law Class 2 H'cap – 1200m BALKAN BAMBINO – Overraced from the 800m until after passing the 600m. TIBURON – Held up rounding the home turn. HAZARD BAY – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Raced wide without cover throughout. MINKUS – Apprentice J. Orman reported that the mare laid out throughout the race. Race 6: Litigation QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate 0 1200m D’LEEAJET – Apprentice T. Williams was examined by the doctor and stood down from her engagement. Apprentice S. Eilbeck was substituted as the rider of the horse. Slow to begin. Had difficulty securing clear running passing the 100m to the inside of LAKOUDIS. GOYUNG THIEF – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages and passing the 900m had to be steadied from heels and shifted wider.SPIRIT AND GRACE – Bumped shortly after the start. After passing the 900m had to be restrained to avoid heels. A short distance later when overracing was shifted wider on the track by another runner and raced wide without cover from that point onwards. RIDENT HOME – Bumped shortly after the start. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight, and was then tightened for room near the 350m and had to be steadied. Raced wide throughout. COOL SEQUENCE – Had to be steadied to avoid the heels of RIDENT HOME near the 900m. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight before being steadied near the 350m. DYLAN’S LUCK – Hung out passing the 800m and until passing the 400m. Layed in under pressure in the home straight.ZATORIO – Bumped by another runner after passing the 800m. Shifted ground under pressure in the home straight and made contact with another runner near the 200m. LAKOUDIS – Restrained from heels near the 700m. HALLSIDE REBEL – Overraced in the middle stages. Improved onto heels near the 500m and had to be checked. KAVALONG - Held up in the early stages of the home straight. APOLLO HOPE - Shifted ground under pressure in the home straight and made contact with another runner near the 200m.Raced 4 wide throughout without cover. BIG SAGA – Raced wide throughout. Race 7: Property Law Class 4 H'cap – 1600m ENDLESS PUZZLE – Change of tactics. Connections advised that the horse would be ridden further back in the field if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordingly. Overraced when being restrained in the early stages to secure a position closer to the fence at the rear of the field and then had to be steadied near the 1200m. Apprentice J. Oliver stated that the gelding’s racing manners in the early stages had a detrimental effect on its overall performance. Trainer W. Hulbert stated that the gelding had come to the end of its current preparation and would now be sent for a spell. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. ROYAL SCRIBE – Overraced in the early stages. ELITE ECHELON – Hung out under pressure in the home straight. When questioned regarding the tactics adopted in leading today, jockey D. Griffin stated that it was his intention to obtain a handy position with cover, however with the removal of the blinkers today the horse raced keenly in the early stages and obtained the lead of its own accord.
