Race 1: Yalumba Class 1 H'cap – 1000m

DAM WONDERFUL – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight and was again placed in restricted room near the 200m before securing clear running passing the 150m.

PETRANI – Had to be checked after passing the 400m when tightened for room. Stewards interviewed jockey A. Taylor (Swiss Music), G. Colless (Al troops) and A. Spinks (Petrani). After obtaining this evidence and viewing the patrol film, stewards did not believe any rider had ridden in a careless manner and was satisfied that Swiss Music had shifted out despite the efforts of its rider causing Petrani to be tightened.

MULTIFOCAL – Raced 3 wide without cover before finishing a distant last. Connections were advised that in light of the horse’s poor recent form, the filly’s nomination would be refused at TAB venues until its form has improved.

RUSTIC MISS – Raced wide. Apprentice B. Derbyshire reported her mount was inclined to lay in under pressure for the majority of the home straight.

SWISS MUSIC – Bled from both nostrils during the event. As this was the second occasion on which it has bled, the mare would now incur a lifetime bar from racing.





Race 2: XXXX Maiden H'cap – 1600m

MCDINGA – Slow to begin. Trainer K. Kemp was fined $100 for adding a small piece of packing to the saddle of apprentice J. Orman after he had weighed out.

SCRAWLING – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to the lead.

MINSK – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide without cover.

LUNCHTIME CHOICE – Raced wide in the early stages.

ONE UP – Overraced in the middle stages. Had some difficulty securing clear running for a short distance passing the 200m.

SOLAR BY PANELS – Overraced in the middle stages.

MANDAROSSO – Held up in the early stages of the straight.

SHADOW MAGIC – Raced wide.


Race 3: HMR Projects Maiden H'cap – 1200m

ARDENNES – Declared a late scratching at 8.50 am. Trainer R. Heathcote was fined $100 for failing to scratch by the prescribed time.

MOUNTAIN OF GRACE – Began awkwardly.

MAKE HER DANCE – Jockey M. Hellyer dropped his near-side rein approaching the 300m.

MEROVECH – Raced 4 wide without cover.

SPANISH GARDEN – Raced 3 wide without cover.

Race 4: Coastline BMW Class 2 H'cap – 1200m

I’M THINKING – Trainer K. Schweida was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.

MUNSTER – Blundered on jumping away.

STEVENSON – Raced wide without cover.

FRENCH CHARM – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Stewards interviewed L. Dittman regarding the horse’s performance. He indicated that the horse travelled well until approaching the home turn when the horse commence to lose ground despite being ridden vigorously. In days following the event trainer G. Heinrich reported that a vet exam following the race had failed to reveal any abnormalities and the filly had pulled up well.

Race 5: Wimmers Premium Soft Drinks QTIS 3yo H'cap – 1200m

CASHING UP – Declared a late scratching at 3.23 pm after breaking through the barriers and travelling a significant distance. All monies invested on Cashing Up withdrawn by the order of the stewards at 16:23 to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

CRAIGLEA DEKEN – Obliged to check from heels near the 800m and shifted wider on the track for a short distance. Jockey A. Coome was fined $200 for returning to scale half a kilogram overweight.

DAWN CRUSADER – Became unbalanced and lost significant ground approaching the 600m. A post race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration to the off hind pastern. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horse regarding its racing manners.

COUNTER MEAL – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

SUITE MOVER – A post race veterinary examination revealed blood in its near-side nostril, which was attributed to external trauma.

DEAD SET JET – A post race veterinary examination revealed cardiac arrhythmia. Connections were advised that the horse must perform satisfactorily in an official trial and undergo an ECG, the results of which to be provided to stewards. Lost near fore and near hind plates in running.


Race 6: Butler McDermott Lawyers Benchmark 75 H'cap – 1200m

CWMBRAN – Slow to begin.

SAY I WON’T – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

TAHOE CITY – Overraced when the pace slackened passing the 700m, shifted wider and raced wide without cover from that point onwards.

WRITTENINTHERAIN – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

ROSELLA – Held up for a short distance passing the 500m. Obliged to race in restricted room over the concluding stages.





Race 7: Hot 91.1 Class 1 H'cap – 1400m

RECREATIONAL RIOT – Slow to begin. As C. Franklin was indisposed, J. Taylor was substituted as the rider of the horse.


GREY OPINION – Tightened for room shortly after the start and had to be checked. Had to be steadied when placed in restricted room passing the 400m.

D’HARMONY – Overraced in the early stages. Held up momentarily rounding the home turn.

BLAZING INFERNO – Overraced when the pace slackened near the 900m before shifting wider on the track and raced 3 wide without cover from that point onwards.

WHYNOTROC – Raced wide.
