SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Race 5: Trainer B. Baldwin reported that Confronting pulled up sore over the wither, neck and back and the horse will receive chiropractic treatment in the next few days and that he would continue on with its current preparation.

Race 8: Trainer D. Hansen reported that Le Chef pulled up fine after its performance and he intended to continue on with its campaign.

Race 1: Tint A Car Sunshine Coast QTIS 3yo Benchmark 75 H'cap – 1600m

RENEGED – Jumped a shadow at the winning post and became awkward. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

MONACO PLAYBOY – Overraced in the early stages.

EXCELLENT SPIRIT – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

FLYING LABELLE – Inconvenienced passing the 100m by another runner.

CHARCUTERIE – Held up rounding the home turn.

MISHANI FORBIDDEN – When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J. Byrne indicated that whilst he was travelling well on the home turn, he was somewhat held up passing the 400m, however when afforded clear running in the home straight, the horse failed to respond and weakened over the final 200m. He indicated that, in his view, the filly did not run out a strong 1600m.


Race 2: NCIS Computers Maiden Plate – 1600m

PUISSANCE DECHEVAL – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

HEROIC ROCK – Overraced in the early stages and shifted wider and raced wide throughout the event.

BRIGHTNBREEZY – Raced wide.

EKRAARSONIC – A post race veterinary examination of the horse which finished a distant last, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer D. Kelly advised stewards he would be sending the horse for a spell. Stewards ordered that the gelding must officially trial to the stewards’ satisfaction prior to its next race start.

SPANISH GARDEN – When asked to comment on the performance, jockey M. Cahill reported that he had been instructed to make a run wider on the track around horses if possible, which he attempted to fulfil after passing the 600m. He indicated that the horse did not travel comfortably throughout the race, did not respond to his riding rounding the home turn and felt that that the horse was disappointing. Trainer C. Anderson was somewhat disappointed with the performance and would consider the horse’s current preparation and report back to stewards in the coming days.


Race 3: Caprow, The Mini Jumpstart Experts Maiden Plate – 1200m

MEWSTONE ROCK – Significantly slow to begin. Shifted wider near the 600m to improve, inconveniencing another runner and racing wide from that point onwards.

PENNY NEXT DOOR – Considerably slow to begin.

ERROL – Slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

AQUAJEWEL – Apprentice T. Brooker reported her mount hung out for a short distance passing the 800m.

SHUGAR BEL – Overraced in the early stages. Whilst weakening near the 200m had to be steadied when placed in restricted room when INFINITE SUCCESS shifted out. D. Browne, rider of INFINITE SUCCESS, was advised to exercise more care and straighten his mounts in similar circumstances.

RED ONYX – When racing wide and ungenerously was forced wider passing the 600m. Raced ungenerously throughout the event. A warning was placed on the horse regarding its racing manners.

BRAD THE LAD – Raced wide throughout.


Race 4: All New Cricks Volkkswagen Class 1 H'cap – 1000m

UNIQUE PEARL – Trainer T. Thomas was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Slow to begin.

MEET GEORGE JETSON – Raced wide without cover.

ROLLING ROMAN – Raced wide.

KNIGHTWICK MANOR – Jockey A. Spinks reported that his mount hung out rounding the home turn and laid out under pressure in the home straight. Jockey S. Spinks was fined $300 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.,

VISONA RED – Bled from one nostril during the race. Connections were advised that the horse must gallop 1000m before stewards prior to its next race start.


Race 5: Morayfield Shopping Centre Oaks

MS BA BELLA – Overraced during the middle stages.

TYPING – Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.

IN THE KITTY – When afforded the opportunity to comment on the performance, jockey J. Lloyd stated that after settling in a rearward position he indicated that the slow tempo of the race did not suit the mare and he was left flatfooted near the 400m. He added that the mare did work to the line fairly however he was nevertheless disappointed with the performance.

ELLE THE MODEL – Stewards questioned jockey A. Spinks regarding the tactics he adopted on his mount in sitting outside the lead in today’s event which was in contrast to the horse’s established racing pattern. He indicated that the horse was inclined to overrace in the early stages and as there was a distinct lack of pace in the race he was unable to fulfil his instructions which was to ride the horse in the second half of the field. Jockey Spinks therefore elected to allow his mount to stride forward to secure a position closer to the fence. He also added that in hindsight riding the horse in this fashion did have a detrimental effect on the overall performance.


Race 6: Coolum Beach Dental Class 4 H'cap – 1800m

NAUTILUS – Clipped heels and blundered shortly after the start. Rider S. Lacey reported she had intended riding the horse in a more forward position but as she suffered interference at the start she was obliged to ride the horse further back in the field.

TAMPERE – Shifted out at the start, inconveniencing another runner. Shifted wider approaching the 400m in an attempt to secure clear running and bumped with another runner on a number of occasions becoming awkward.

PROMAS – Buffeted by another runner rounding the home turn and became unbalanced.

DENONINATOR – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure from the 400m onwards.

BIRDIE BLITZ – Raced wide during the early stages.

BLACKJACK BELLA – Raced wide during the early stages.

QABLA – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

WIMPOLE STREET - Laid in under pressure in the straight.


Race 7: Integrale Homes Class 1 H'cap – 1400m

STAINER – Slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

WE BUILT THIS CITY – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and until leaving the 200m.

SOL WITNESS - Raced wide without cover.

IRONBORN – Raced wide.

JUDGE RUBY – Raced wide.

CIRCUIT BREAKER – Raced wide.

THORNETT - Jockey V. Johnston, rider of PEPPA JELLY, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that when riding her mount along and applying the whip did allow her mount to shift out under pressure, forcing JUDGE RUBY wider on the track, which in turn was forced out on to CIRCUIT BREAKER, which tightened the running of THORNETT, placing those 3 horses in restricted room, and soon after continued to apply pressure to her mount and allowing that horse to shift out further, forcing further tightening to JUDGE RUBY, which in turn shifted out, making contact with CIRCUIT BREAKER, forcing that horse across the rightful running of THORNETT, causing that horse to be checked by its rider, P. Hammersley. Jockey Johnston was suspended from riding for a period of 11 days, to commence at midnight, 28 May and to expire at midnight, 8 June. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.


RED CHANDELIER – Jockey G. Colless reported that his mount was held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight, however despite having secured clear running near the 150m, the horse did not quicken as anticipated and was somewhat disappointing in the run to the line.

NIGHT ATTIRE – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.

TORONTO FLYER – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and until being steadied when tightened for room near the 150m, and following this shifted back to the inside to secure clear running. Apprentice J. Orman, rider of MIRANDA JANE, was reprimanded for this incident.

SWEET BUCKS – Disappointed for clear running and had to be steadied near the 250m when tightened for room by the weakening SOL WITNESS.

MIRANDA JANE – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and until leaving the 100m.

PEPPER JELLY – Jockey V. Johnston will be interviewed regarding her whip use.

AIR FORCE ONE - Forced to steady over the concluding stages when tightened for room when NIGHT ATTIRE shifted out under pressure. D Browne the rider of NIGHT ATTIRE was severely reprimanded for failing to stop riding and straighten.

Race 8: Hot 91.1 Class 2 H'cap – 1200m

FRISCO JOE – Trainer L. Richardson was reprimanded for the late scratching of the horse at 7.37 am.

LUPO NERO – Trainer K. Clark-Peoples was reprimanded for the late scratching of the horse at 7.43 am.

CLATEAU – Trainer N. McCall was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time..

SAGAMAMA – Declared a late scratching at 1.07 pm on veterinary advice after being found to be sore in the off foreleg. Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be provided for the horse prior to its next race start.

BEDISGUISED – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight and when securing clear running made contact with another runner.

ON DEMAND – Forced wider by another runner near the 350m. Raced wide.

YOU ARE GOLDEN – Raced 3 wide without cover.

IRISH CONSTABULARY – Apprentice S. Eilbeck reported that her mount overraced in the early and middle stages when leading.

JETFIRE – Lost its near hind plate in running.
