OstrofskiRACE 1: DES MCMAHON MEMORIAL QTIS 3YO MAIDEN H'CAP – 1300MNo racing incidents.RACE 2: CMBM FACILITY SERVICES GOLD COAST MAIDEN PLATE – 1400MREGULARITY – A pre-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had sustained a superficial abrasion to the near hind leg whilst being floated to the track, however the horse was cleared to race. Overraced in the early stages.EXCITED DREAM – Slow to begin. Had to be steadied when placed in restricted room near the 1200m and then overraced until approaching the 900m.LADY MANHATTAN – Apprentice T. Brooker indicated that the horse was under pressure from the 400m and weakened badly and she could not offer any tangible explanation for the disappointing performance. Trainer M. Lakey indicated that this was the horse’s first start on a heavy track and that its previous runs had only been on soft rated rain-affected tracks. He indicated that this, in his opinion, may have been the reason for the disappointing performance and that he would monitor the horse’s post-race recovery and advise stewards should anything come to light which may have affected the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.CLARENDON HOUSE- Slow to begin. RACE 3: CMBM FACILITY SERVICES TOOWOOMBA CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1200MMT ZIGGARO – Raced three wide without cover and finished tailed off.Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to SOFT 7.RACE 4: CMBM FACILITY SERVICES SUNSHINE COAST OPEN H'CAP – 1200MNo racing incidents.RACE 5: CMBM FACILITY SERVICES WIDE BAY MAIDEN H'CAP – 1000MALSEEYA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to race. Apprentice B. Panya lost the nearside rein passing the 300m and did not regain it until leaving the 150m.LUCKY I MADE IT – Slow to begin.CHILDHOOD SECRET – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.SINGLE LASS – M. Cahill was fined $200 for returning to scale in excess of half a kilogram over his allotted weight.RACE 6: CMBM FACILITY SERVICES MACKAY CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200MOLSSON – Overraced in the early stages when the pace slackened passing the 900m. R. Wiggins reported that in his opinion the horse raced below expectations, which he felt could be attributed to the soft racing surface. WRITTEN AT DAWN – Began awkwardly. Bled from both nostrils. Ineligible to start for 3 months, and before resuming racing must perform satisfactorily in a 1000m trial in the presence of a steward. SCARLETT’S BOY – Raced wide without cover. HANNAH’S WISH – Threw its head back on jumping, striking rider J. Byrne on the head. Laid in under pressure after passing the 400m.KILKENNY MISS – Began awkwardly. Raced wide without cover, was uncompetitive and finished tailed off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer J. Williams was advised that the horse would not be permitted to start at TAB venues until its country form improves.TREASURE GALLERY – Began awkwardly.RACE 7: CMBM FACILITY SERVICES CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1400MSAGAMAMA – Slow to begin.WINDFLEET – Tightened at the start and lost ground.ALFIE JUNIOR – Reared at the start.PORTSEA – Finished tailed off. Rider M. Cahill indicated that the horse did not travel comfortably throughout the race and commenced to hang out near the 700m and made an abnormal respiratory noise post-race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be exhibiting cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer D. Hansen was advised that before racing again the horse must perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and the results of an ECG must be presented to stewards.RACE 8: CMBM FACILITY SERVICES TOWNSVILLE CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1600MNERO D’AVOLA – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight.MR METICULOUS – M. Cahill indicated that he was instructed to ride the horse in a forward position and the horse travelled comfortably in the lead, however was under pressure shortly after entering the home straight. Trainer L. Birchley indicated that in his opinion the horse may not have run out a strong 1600m and would now be sent for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.ELIZABETH’S DREAM – Slow to begin.STAINER – Slow to begin.TUMBLING AL – Apprentice C.
