Hocking was reprimanded for failing to produce the horse’s Thoroughbred Identification Card. Inconvenienced leaving the 700m and then raced wide throughout without cover.JONZALI – Slow to begin. Hung out and raced greenly throughout. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight. The veterinary surgeon reported that the horse was showing signs of mild heat stress post-race.JESTER DANE – Inconvenienced leaving the 700m and then raced wide throughout without cover.PUDER – Stewards asked jockey B. Pengelly to comment on the performance of his mount. He indicated that from the wide alley he had been instructed to ride the horse quietly to ensure a position closer to the fence. He indicated that the horse had improved into the race rounding the home turn and after securing clear running in the home straight then had to alter course when ISLAND EMPIRE was shifting in under pressure near the 100m. He further indicated that the horse finished the race off fairly and he would have preferred to settle the horse closer in the field had the horse drawn a better alley. Trainer M. Lakey reported that the horse made an abnormal respiratory sound following the event and consequently will now be retired.SUAVE CAT – Had to be steadied when placed in restricted room near the 700m.WAITING GAME – Inconvenienced leaving the 700m.ARNHEM BEAUTY – Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.ORQUESTA – Raced wide without cover.SANDY STRAITS – Commenced to hang out from the 800m and when leaving the 700m shifted out, inconveniencing other runners.Race 2: COASTLINE BMW MAIDEN H'CAP – 1400MThe start was delayed when HEROIC ROCK had to have the off fore plate refitted after arriving at the barriers.PUT THE ROPE AWAY – Held up rounding the home turn and was placed in restricted room passing the 400m. The veterinary surgeon reported that the horse made a loud respiratory noise post-race and had a slow recovery rate and that she had recommended to the trainer to have an endoscopic examination carried out on the horse. Stewards will interview trainer J. Thompson regarding the horse’s post-race recovery.SHE GOES POP – Slow to begin. Raced extremely wide and was ridden forward to a position outside the lead without cover.HEROIC ROCK – Raced wide throughout and without cover from the 700m.PEQUENINOS – Raced wide throughout. Apprentice A. Denby was reprimanded for using the whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m.STRIKING WARRIOR – Raced wide without cover from the 800m.ALEMANA – Held up near the 200m and obliged to alter course to secure clear running.Race 3: PLATINUM ELECTRICIANS CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1200MBROTHERLY SECRET – Slow to begin. Apprentice G. Willoughby was fined $200 for using the whip 6 times prior to the 100m.OFFENSIVE PLAY – M. Cahill could offer no tangible explanation for his mount’s disappointing performance.ROSELLA – Overraced in the early stages and shifted out to avoid heels and as a result raced wide without cover throughout. FOUR EXCEL – Raced wide without cover.GOLFING – Lost the off fore plate in running.Race 4: JOHN BURGESS ELECTRICAL CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200MGOULDIAN – Blundered badly on jumping away and lost significant ground. Inconvenienced rounding the home turn.PROMISCUOUS – Inconvenienced rounding the home turn.EGIPTIENNE – Fractious in the barriers, jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.HANNA’S WISH – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.BOLD NAVIGATOR – Raced wide until near the 700m.Race 5: ONE ZERO COMMUNICATIONS QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1400MThe declaration of correct weight was delayed when trainer B. Guy applied to have WICKED QUEEN declared a non-runner on the basis that the filly was denied a fair start. Mr Guy indicated that he felt the barrier attendant had restricted the horse from jumping away as he was of the view that the horse’s head was still being held when the start was effected. After viewing the stewards’ patrol footage and taking evidence from rider B. Ainsworth, stewards were satisfied that whilst the barrier attendant had been holding the horse’s head prior to the start, the horse had become quite fractious before the start was effected and therefore were of the view that other than for the horse’s own barrier manners, the filly was afforded a fair start and correct weight was declared.FLIGHT PRINCE – Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.RALLIER – Had to be steadied from heels when overracing near the 1000m when the pace slackened. Held up rounding the home turn and had to be steadied when placed in restricted room after passing the 400m.SON OF JUSTICE – Raced wide without cover. SOUND INVESTMENT – Began awkwardly. Improved on to heels when the pace slackened near the 1000m, had to be checked and then overraced for some distance. Held up on the heels of the weakening SON OF JUSTICE from the 250m onwards.THE REAL RONALDO – Raced wide throughout.YESIDO – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.OUR CINDERELLA – Checked when the pace steadied near the 1000m.SOCIAL VAMPIRE – Overraced in the early stages when attempting to secure cover before being ridden forward to take up the lead passing the 900m.Race 6: MEREDITH KITCHENS CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1400M GOOD INTENTIONS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be suffering from the thumps, to be lame in the off hind leg, to have minor lacerations to the near foreleg and abrasions to both hind fetlocks. Trainer T. Hurley was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to being permitted to race again. A swab sample was taken.WEEKEND WINNER – Jumped awkwardly and made contact with the barrier partition.Race 7: MULTIMEAT AUSTRALIA PTY LTD BENCHMARK 80 H’CAP – 1000MTHINKHESAURUS – Slow to begin. G. Geran dropped his whip near the 200m.SAMBUCA SHOT – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.SAMMI JAIN – Raced wide throughout. When asked to comment on the horse’s performance, M. Cahill was unable to offer any tangible explanation except to note that the mare was forced to race wide throughout. Jockey Cahill also noted that when he last rode the mare three starts ago it had also been disappointing in its performance.TELMEMORE – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground. Apprentice S.
