CORONATION BENNY – Raced in race plates and not the previously advertised concussion plates. Trainer J. Stanton was reprimanded for presenting the horse with incorrect gear.

MY FIRECRACKER – Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: ROSS MACLEAN FELLOWSHIP MAIDEN PLATE – 1000M

SHUGAR BEL – Raced wide throughout. Inconvenienced by the riderless SILK SHEETS near the 400m.

SILK SHEETS – Began very awkwardly and shortly after the start made heavy contact with another runner, became unbalanced causing the rider to become unbalanced before being dislodged. Apprentice M. Murphy was examined by the Club doctor following the event and cleared to fulfil his remaining engagements.

ZOUZOUKAKIA – Bumped by JILL’S CHARM on jumping and as a result shifted in abruptly, making heavy contact with SILK SHEETS.

FREEZEN EASY – The start of this race was delayed when FREEZEN EASY, which had become fractious in the barriers, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start. Trainer D. Murphy was advised that the horse must obtain a further barrier certificate before starting again. Apprentice A. Badger reported that her mount raced greenly throughout the event. Trainer D. Murphy advised stewards that the horse would now be sent for a spell.

AWESOME MORE – Had to be restrained from heels when the pace slackened near the 800m.

Race 4: SEA VISTA DEVELOPMENTS BM80 H’CAP – 1800M

EMERALD CITY – Stewards questioned R. Goltz regarding his riding from the 400m until approaching the 250m. Stewards raised concerns that he appeared to display a lack of vigour given that COLOUR CHARGE, which won the race, had led and had set only a slow tempo in the early and middle stages. R. Goltz explained that trainer David Vandyke had instructed him similarly to previous starts in that he is of the opinion that the horse does not finish its races off when finding the lead too early in the home straight. He had been instructed, therefore, to try to time his run into the race to ensure that he is contesting the led over the concluding stages. Trainer Vandyke confirmed these instructions. Stewards advised jockey Goltz that given the instructions he had been issued, they were not overly critical of his actions, however did feel that with hindsight and given that COLOUR CHARGE had been given an easy lead, he would have been better served pressuring the horse from the 400m, however noted the explanation and took no further action.

GOOD JOB BRO – Slow to begin.

ROCK THE PAC – R. Fradd reported that whilst the performance of his mount was somewhat disappointing, he felt this could be attributed to the steady pace set in the early and middle stages, which did not suit the horse’s racing pattern.

PUTAPAVONIT – Slow to begin and then was ridden aggressively to assume a position outside the lead.

Race 5: PELICAN WATERS GOLF CLUB F&M RATINGS BAND 0-65 H’CAP – 1000M

DAM WONDERFUL – Raced wide without cover.

INNOCENT – Raced wide and laid in under pressure in the home straight.

PARTY TILL DAWN – Overraced when steadied near the 700m and laid in, making contact with another runner until approaching the 600m. Lost the near hind plate in running.

TRAINER’S POCKET – Bumped by another runner and placed in restricted room between the 700m and 600m.

THE INFLAMER – Bumped by another runner approaching the first turn.

MAGIC SQUARE – Slow to begin.

WALTZ IN FLIGHT – Commenced to overrace approaching the first turn and shifted out making contact with THE INFLAMER, then shifted in a short distance later and inconvenienced another runner.

CALGARY – Slow to begin. Tightened for room passing the 800m when placed in restricted room to the inside of WALTZ IN FLIGHT.

Race 7: BLINDS – AWNINGS & SECURITY CLASS 4 H'CAP – 1400M
