GENERAL
 
As T. Harrison and G. Geran were indisposed, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary Sheet.
 
Race 1:Ruff Rock Road Race Maiden H’cap – 1600m
 
THE GRINGO – Declared a late scratching at 9.47 am on veterinary advice.
 
MIA MAGIC – Slow to begin.
 
ELRAES – Slow to begin.
 
SIR EARLSTOUN – Raced wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to a position outside the lead passing the 1000m.
 
MURTASTEEL – Held up rounding the home turn and had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight until passing the 150m.
 
BRIGHTNBREEZY – Held up rounding the home turn and until after the 300m.
 
ABROGATE – Raced greenly and hung out throughout.
 
ABBEY DAZZLER – Raced wide..
 
SHADOW MAGIC – Raced wide without cover.
 
 
 
Race 2: Induction Explosion Maiden Plate – 1200m
 
The start of this race was delayed after Assistant Starter M. Bailey was kicked by Third Symphony.  Mr Bailey was interviewed by the ambulance officers who were satisfied he could be examined by the club’s doctor following the race.  Club doctor, Dr B. Spillsbury, examined Mr Bailey and stood him down for the remainder of the day. Sunshine Coast Turf Club employee Mr C. Dunn was appointed as Assistant Starter for the remainder of the day.
 
ARROGANT BOY – Connections advised that the horse would be ridden further back in the field if circumstances permit in an attempt to have the horse settle. The horse was ridden accordingly.
 
SENSEOFWONDER – Slow to begin.  Apprentice S. Lacy reported her mount raced greenly throughout.
 
THIRD SYMPHONY – Slow to begin. Raced wide.
 
SAMUEL JAMES – Had to be checked at the start when tightened for room.
 
MOMENT OF SILENCE – Bumped by another runner at the start.  Inconvenienced near the 900m.
 
HAY LIFE – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped another runner. Raced wide.
 
MOUNTAIN OF GRACE – Overraced in the early stages and shifted wider near the 900m.
 
QUEENOFTHEPIXIES – Became awkwardly placed at heels approaching the 400m.
 
OSCAR THE ENCOSTA – Shifted out approaching the 400m, bumping another runner and became awkward, losing  ground.
 
KING DRABADORE – Raced greenly in the home straight, causing its rider to stop riding and straighten over the concluding stages when laying in.
 
TYCOON ROSSA – Raced wide without cover.  Laid in under pressure in the home straight, placing its rider at a disadvantage.
 
DE LAGO JET – Raced wide.
 
BRANDY BAR – Raced wide.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 3: The Duke of Mellington QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1200m
 
SINISTER PRINCESS – Declared a late scratching at 1.58 pm on veterinary advice after sustaining an injury to the near hind leg on route to the races.  Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable for bets placed prior to the withdrawal time. 
 
6 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for winner Kubis
5 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets for  winner Kubis
7 cents in the dollar on the face value of  2nd place Heart Of Australia
15 cents in the dollar on the face value of   3rd place Somja
 
Starting prices not  subject to deduction.
 
THE BARRACUDA – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
EASTERN PARADISE – After overracing in the early stages to take up a position worse than midfield, then raced 3 wide without cover.
 
SORNJA - Overraced when the pace slackened leaving the 800m and until the 600m.
 
DANISH EMPIRE – Improved onto heels when the pace slackened leaving the 800m and had to be steadied before shifting wider on the track and raced wide without cover from that point onwards.
 
MONACO SNOB – Overraced from the 800m until entering the home straight.   Had to be steadied from heels when held up for clear running near the 400m.
 
Race 4: SCFE Class 1 H’cap – 1400m
 
PRINCE DE HERO – Slow to begin.  Held up rounding the home turn.
 
FAST FELLA – Hampered on jumping away. Jockey B. Pengelly advised he had been instructed to ride the horse  in a forward position, however the horse began awkwardly and he was obliged to race in the second half of the field. He added he was able to improve with cover at a point near the 600m, and when rounding the home turn felt his mount was running into the race nicely, however the horse compounded over the concluding stages and was disappointing.
 
THE OVERDRAFT – Held up rounding the home turn and had difficulty securing clear running in the home straight until leaving the 300m.
 
DON’T RUSH ME – Raced wide without cover.
 
THE INFLAMER –  Stewards asked jockey D. Browne to comment on the performance of the horse.  He indicated after having a favourable run in the field with easy sectionals during the middle stages he was confident when rounding the home turn the horse would finish the race off well, however the gelding failed to respond to his riding and was very disappointing. Trainer S. Kendrick advised stewards he was not entirely satisfied with the horse’s post race recovery and would monitor the horse in the coming days.   A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
 
Race 5: Is That You Stan? Benchmark 75 H’cap – 1300m
 
SPEED GONZALES – Apprentice S. Lacy reported her mount laid out rounding the home turn.
 
TRUE ROYAL – Disappointed for a run near the 100m and as a result  was obliged to steady and alter course to secure clear running and in doing so made contact with another runner.
 
DEITCH – Bumped by another runner near the 100m.
 
 
Race 6: Who Is Jose Sanchez? Ratings Band 0-65 H’cap – 1600m
 
CROUPIER – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after sustaining an abrasion to its shoulder in travelling en route to the track and was cleared to start.
 
FELIX BAY – Slow to begin.
 
NO MAGIC NEEDED – Slow to begin.
 
BILBERRY STAR – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.,
 
NOSSUH – Obliged to alter course to secure clear running after being held up in the early stages of the home straight.
 
 
 
Race 7: Indiana Bones Class 2 H’cap – 1200m
 
SNITZOLA – Steadied shortly after the start.
 
CABANA BOY – Steadied near the 150m to avoid heels.
 
SAILOR GERRI – Raced wide without cover. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 8: Boxtruck Shark Unicorn Class 1 H’cap – 1000m

POLLY PARROT -  Stood flatfooted as the start was effected and lost significant ground.  Trainer  D. Stafford  was advised that a further barrier certificate would be required for the mare prior to its next race start.
 
NEOPHYTE – Slow to begin.
 
PERIPHERAL – Held up rounding the home turn. Lost its off fore plate in running.
 
WONDERFUL TALE – After being held up for clear running rounding the home turn, was then disappointed  for a run near the 200m and had to be steadied, and continued to be held up until passing the 100m.
 
COOL SEQUENCE – Raced wide without cover.
 
YOU SAY NO WAY – Raced wide without cover.
 
DR QUINCY – Raced wide without cover.
