Race 1: NEIL MANSELL LANDSCAPE SUPPLIES MAIDEN H’CAP – 1400M
 
The start of this race was delayed when HAVEN WHISPER proved difficult to load. Trainer N. Hocking was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare.
 
ALLEGRO IN A MAJOR – Overraced in the early stages.
 
HAVEN WHISPER – Slow into stride.
 
SWIPPA DA MOUSE – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
MAGICALITY – Began awkwardly.
 
MOMENT OF SILENCE – Bumped near the 500m.
 
Race 2: TROPIC ASPHALTS MAIDEN H’CAP – 1400M
 
ABROGATE – Hung out from the 900m and continued to race with its head on the side until straightening.
 
SONTORO – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer N. Harrison was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s poor performance.
 
Race 3: BIG RIVER CLASS 2 H'CAP – 1400M
 
SYAMANTAKA MANI – As A. Spinks was injured, P. Hammersley was substituted as rider. Began awkwardly.
 
TEMPLE TILT – Overraced in the middle stages.
 
BRIALKA LODGE – Slow to begin.
 
Race 4: REECE PLUMBING MAIDEN H’CAP – 1000M
 
AZARENKA – A. Taylor was dislodged during the preliminary, taking a seemingly harmless fall. The horse was quickly recaptured, the rider remounted and the horse took its place in the field. Raced four wide without cover.
 
ACE STRYKER – Slow to begin.
 
STORM ANCHOR – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
Race 5: RAPID HIRE CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1600M
 
BROCSON – Had difficulty securing clear running in the early part of the straight and laid in under pressure.
 
THERMAL UNIT – Laid in in the straight.
 
RECRUIT – Slow into stride.
 
HEROIC ROCK – Slow into stride.
 
ADJOURNED – Became unbalanced and struck the rail near the 450m when improving into a tight run to the inside of LUCKY THREE SEVENS.
 
Race 6: AUSTRAL MASONRY BENCHMARK 75 H'CAP – 1000M
 
TANSY – Was standing awkwardly in its barrier when the gates were released and consequently was slow to muster speed.
 
SHAPIN LADY – Raced three wide throughout.
 
Race 7: HY-TEC CONCRETE CLASS 1 H'CAP – 1200M
 
THEOPOLY – Began awkwardly.
 
SAVAGE HOOD – Overraced in the early stages.
 
YOUR SAY – Special permission was given for apprentice M. Murphy to claim 1.5kg of his 2kg allowance as there was no other rider available at the weight. Apprentice Murphy was fined $200. Bumped heavily at the start.
 
PLAIN ‘N’ SIMPLE – Began awkwardly.
 
JILL’S CHARM – Apprentice R. Johnston-Bell was fined $100 for failing to claim down to his riding weight. Apprentice S. Panya was substituted as rider.
 
ENVIRONMENTAL – S. Lacy, who was overweight, was inadvertently advertised as the rider. Subsequently, H. English was substituted.
