HansonStewards Secretary – P. Carey _________________________________ Race 1: Yalumba Ratings Band 0 58 H’cap – 1000m LOADED AND READY – Slow to begin. Race 2: Bassett Barks Pty Ltd Class 3 H’cap – 1000m HUSSON BOOTS – Apprentice A Fancourt reported her mount did not travel comfortably in the rain affected conditions at any stage of the race. Race 3: Hygain CG&E Maiden Plate – 1000m ENTERPRISE CUPID – Slow to begin. MASTER MAGIC AL – Slow to begin. Race 4: Neil Mansell Concrete QTIS 3yo C&G Maiden H’cap – 1200m SHOWSCAY – Following advice from trainer M. Mair that the horse had a minor nasal secretion, the horse underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. The horse was again examined behind the barriers and cleared to start. Slow to begin. CLAIRVUE DIAMOND – Slow to begin. APPRECIATED – Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight. MY BELLY BUTTON – Jockey B. Stewart reported his mount did not travel comfortably at any stage of the race in the rain affected conditions. Following this race the track rating was upgraded to Heavy 9. Race 5: Golden Beach Tavern F&M Maiden Plate – 1000m STONEFISH – Began awkwardly and lost significant ground. VOLIVOLI – Overraced in the early stages. LUCKY’S LIL GIRL – Slow to begin. Placed in restricted room near the 500m and was steadied. SINGLE LASS – Slow to begin. Inconvenienced by another runner near the 500m. OUR FIRE AND ICE – Jockey B. Stewart reported that after being crossed by another runner near the 600m, the horse did not travel comfortably and made an abnormal respiratory noise rounding the home turn. The saddle on the horse slipped backwards during the event. A post race veterinary examination did not reveal any significant abnormality. Trainer S. Kendrick was advised that the horse must undergo an endoscopic examination, the results of which to be forwarded to stewards, and also must provide a veterinary clearance for the mare prior to its next race start. Race 6: Office National Caloundra F&M Class 2 H’cap – 1400m TACTICAL MANUEVER – After arrival at the course the mare the mare examined by the veterinary surgeon and declared a late scratching at 2.42 pm after it was found to have abrasions to its off hind leg. SILVER SCREEN – Which was fractious on leaving the enclosure and was kicked by another horse, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. EXPLOSIVE EVIE – Lost its off fore plate in running. Race 7: Pelican Motors Service Centre Benchmark 75 H’cap – 1400m FAST ARROW – Slow to begin. SCRAP COPPER – When placed under pressure approaching the 400m failed to respond and proved disappointing. VENECIA – Apprentice S. Lacy reported that her mount may have got its tongue over the bit throughout the event. BETTABET RED – Jockey D. Browne reported that after travelling well throughout the event, the horse blundered near the 450m and was immediately under pressure and weakened in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Stewards questioned trainer L. White who was of the view that the poor performance could be attributed to the rain-affected track. Miss White was advised that stewards would follow up with her in the coming days as to the horse’s recovery. Race 8: Wear In Business – Bon Reid Memorial Class 1 H’cap – 1600m TRAVISTEE – Slow to begin. Raced greenly in the home straight. SWEET JAIN - Jockey A.
