Race 1:  Butler McDermott Lawyers QTIS 2yho Maiden H’cap – 1200m
 
WON CAPILANO – Slow to begin.
 
CONCILLIUM – After beginning awkwardly was steadied shortly after the start to avoid heels. Overraced in the early stages and shifted wider to avoid heels near the 800m and raced 3 wide from that point onwards as a result.  Jockey A. Spinks reported it had been his intention to position the horse in the forward half of the field, however after beginning awkwardly and being unable to muster early pace he was obliged to settle at the tail of the field.
 
SIP IT SLOW – Jumped awkwardly and made contact with PALLADAS. Overraced in the early stages and as a result shifted to a 3-wide position near the 800m and raced wide without cover from that point onwards.
 
PALLADAS – Bumped by  SIP IT SLOW on jumping away.
 
SUPERARE – Began awkwardly.
 
TREASACH – Bumped by SUPERARE on jumping away and lost ground.
 
TICK TOCK BOOM – Raced wide throughout. Jockey J. Bayliss was fined $200 for using his whip on 7 consecutive strides prior to the 100m.
Race 2:  Moreton All Body Care Maiden H’cap – 1200m
 
FROM NOW – Inspected by the veterinary surgeon prior to racing after suffering an abrasion to the off-side nostril and was cleared to take its place in the field.
 
DAULAT KIWAMI RAJA  – Began awkwardly. Jockey A. Sewell reported to stewards that after obtaining a midfield position the horse, which was having its first start, did not travel for a short period and commenced to lose ground after passing the 700m, causing him to ride vigorously during the middle stages to hold a position.
 
ZEDAGUA – Slow to begin.
 
DURUNDUR LAD – Began awkwardly.
 
DEBONAIR DES – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide throughout. Was bumped by GEOVANNI near the 650m.
 
GEOVANNI – Overraced in the early  stages and raced greenly, hanging out from the 800m. Obliged to steady from heels near the 650m and as a result shifted out and made contact with DEBONAIR DES. 
 
KOKOPO KITTY – Held up for a short distance passing the 500m.
 
 
Race 3: CMBM Facility Services Pty Ltd Maiden H’cap – 1200m
 
DAUNTING ADVENTURE – Jockey A. Allen replaced jockey V. Venkaya as the rider of the horse after jockey Venkaya was injured during trackwork on Tuesday.
 
FI FI NO FUSS – Slow to begin.
 
ROCK PAPER SIZZLE – Steadied shortly after the start to avoid heels. Overraced in the early  and middle stages and hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
EL RANCHOS – Overraced in the early and middle stages and was obliged to alter course near the 100m to secure clear running.
 
KAAYDEH – Was steadied to avoid the heels of the weakening REDOUTE’S SPIRIT near the 250m before shifting to the inside to secure clear running.
 
RHUEZON – Raced wide without cover.
 
REDOUTE’S SPIRIT – A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which weakened badly in the straight and was pulled up shortly after passing the winning post, found the horse to be making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer N. McCall was advised she would be required to provide a veterinary clearance for the horse prior to racing again. Trainer N. McCall indicated she would discuss the horse’s immediate future with connections.
 
 
Race 4: Reed Racing Maiden Plate – 1600m
 
BE BRYAN – Slow to begin.
 
WILCARUISE – Overraced in the early  stages and improved into restricted room after passing the 1300m and clipped the heels of GOMATHI, blundered and lost significant ground.
 
BAY NOT GREY – Overraced in the early stages. Raced in restricted room over the final 100m and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
STONEFISH – Checked to avoid heels near the 1250m.
 
 
Race 5:  Southeast Stainless Class 1 H’cap – 1400m
 
FELZONE – Declared a late scratching at 2 pm by stewards acting on veterinary advice when trainer S. Kendrick advised stewards that the horse had become quite agitated and was sweating profusely in the tie-up stalls. Stewards ordered that a swab sample be taken from the gelding.  Mr Kendrick gave an undertaking that he would start the horse at alternative venues than the Sunshine Coast as the horse has in the past not become agitated when travelling to other venues.
 
FIGHTING FAITH – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
PUMPKIN DIAMOND – Slow to begin.
 
THE CHOSEN ONE – Slow to begin. Jockey M. Cahill was asked to comment on the performance. He stated the horse had been slow to begin  as he had anticipated and took up a trailing position in the second half of the field. He added that the slow tempo which was set in the early and middle stages had a detrimental effect on the horse’s finishing effort.
 
ROCK TOUR – Jockey S. Cormack was asked to comment on the seemingly disappointing performance of the horse. He stated that, in his opinion, the horse raced keenly outside the lead and, in his view, this had an overall detrimental effect on its performance.
 
 
Race 6: John Burgess Electrical Open H’cap – 1400m
 
BRYNEICH – Began awkwardly, bumping with CORAL BAY. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
CORAL BAY – Bumped on jumping away. Overraced in the early stages and shifted 3 wide without cover at the 700m to avoid heels.
 
TOP STRIKER – Overraced in the early stages and was permitted to stride forward to the lead approaching the 800m.  Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
BOLD ASSASSIN – Held up for clear running on the home turn and again between the 200m and 100m.
 
DRUMBEAT’S CHOICE – Stewards questioned rider A. Sewell and trainer T. Bourke regarding the tactics to ride the horse forward in today’s event, which was in contrast to the horse’s most recent racing pattern. Mr Bourke indicated he had instructed jockey Sewell to pressure the horse out of the barrier,  however did not think the horse would lead in the early stages. Jockey Sewell confirmed the instructions, adding that when engaged to ride the horse previously he has also pressured the horse  out of the barriers. He felt the horse took up a more forward position due to a distinct lack of pace in the event. After considering the explanation tendered, trainer T. Bourke was reprimanded under AR100(1) for failing to notify stewards of a change of tactics.
 
 
Race 7: Coastal Style Constructions QTIS 3yo H’cap – 1400m
 
REBEL ROCK – Slow to begin and was obliged to alter course rounding the home turn to secure clear running.
 
MR MOONLIGHT – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SO YOU SHOP – Steadied after passing the 1200m in order to obtain cover.
 
MAIN DE FOI – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 8:  Perry’s Sunshine Coast Event Hire Class 3 Plate – 1600m
 
POWERING – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Held up over the concluding stages.
 
INDIAN DREAMER – Was significantly slow to begin. Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
 
STARLIGHTER – Laid out from the 600m onwards.
 
JOY’S REWARD – Overraced in the middle stages. Over the concluding stages was obliged to check when racing between INDIAN DREAMER, which shifted out slightly, and ENTERPRISE JACK, which shifted in under pressure over the final 100m.  After taking evidence from the jockeys involved, jockey S. Cormack, rider of ENTERPRISE JACK, was reprimanded for failing to stop riding and straighten.
 
 
Race 9:  TAB Class 1 H’cap – 1000m
 
GENZAI THE WOLF – Trainer D. Murphy was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Slow to begin, and then raced wide throughout.
 
SOCIALISING – Slow to begin. After having difficulty securing clear running near the 400m then shifted out and bumped MORT DOYLE, causing his mount to become unbalanced.
 
ADAMDEEANT – Jumped away awkwardly. Steadied from heels near the 850m. Overraced whilst wide until entering the home straight.
 
GENZAI THE WOLF – Slow to begin, and then raced wide throughout.
 
ME AS I AM – Inconvenienced on jumping away. Held up from the 400m until passing the 100m.
 
MASSABIELLE – Held up from the 500m until leaving the 300m.
 
MORT DOYLE – Had difficulty securing clear running rounding the home turn. Was then bumped by another runner approaching the 350m.
 
COMBAT KID – Steadied when disappointed for a run near the 250m.
 
PHIONAIX – Raced wide and was steadied from heels near the 550m.
