French +1kg Race 1: KAWANA PARK EAGLES AFL CLUB QTIS Two-Year-Old Fillies Maiden Handicap 1000 metres KEYBOARD – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. CAPITAL EM – Raced wide throughout. IMPENDING ROSE – Slow to begin. Steadied from heels near the 700m. PLATINUM LIES – Began awkwardly and made contact with MORE THAN YOU. SHE'SGOTACCESS – Rider B. Thompson dropped his whip near the 100m. FRENCH STORY – Slow to begin. FORCESOME – Began awkwardly. When pace slackened from the 700m commenced to race greenly until entering the home straight. At the 150m, when attempting to swap the whip from the left hand to the right hand, rider L. Tarrant dropped the off side rein and was unable to fully test his mount from that point onwards. Race 2: I LOVE TURF QTIS Two-Year-Old Colts and Geldings Maiden Handicap 1000 metres CHANGE THE DEEL – Slow to begin, and heavily bumped after the start and lost ground. Hung out from the 700m causing interference to MISHANI AVIATOR at a point near the 600m. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Representative for the S. Kendrick stable was advised that CHANGE THE DEEL will be required to barrier trial prior to racing again. MISHANI AVIATOR – Steadied near the 600m when tightened for room to the outside of CHANGE THE DEEL which hung out. MISTER MODERATION – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Raced greenly throughout, particularly when under pressure in the home straight. MISHANI LIGHT – Slow to begin. Stewards enquired into riding of MISHANI LIGHT, jockey T. Harrison reported that she had difficulty with the gelding when proceeding to the barriers, and after beginning from a wide barrier she steadied to the rear of the field, and the gelding raced greenly throughout. She added that when pressuring the horse in the early stages of the home straight, MISHANI LIGHT was inclined to race greenly, and for this reason over the concluding stages she did not continue to pressure her mount. A post race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Representative for the L. Ross stable was advised that the gelding will be required to barrier trial prior to racing again due to its pre race behaviour and racing manners. Race 3: ALL ASPECT SPRAYING Class 4 Handicap 1800 metres RELUCENT (NZ) – Apprentice A. Jones was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip six times prior to the 100m, being one more than permitted. LATELY (NZ) – Slow to begin. ANGELS SHARE – Slow to begin. Over raced in the early and middle stages. WHERE YA BEAN – Raced wide during the early stages. PAINTED BLACK – Lost its nasal strip on the way to barriers and it was unable to be re-attached, therefore, the horse raced without this gear. Race 4: SMART STEPS Class 1 Handicap 1400 metres PORT MOURANT – Began awkwardly and lost ground. SECURITY ADVISOR – Near the 200m, obliged to alter course, shifting out to obtain clear running. BARNES – Steadied from heels when the pace slackened near the 1000m and again approaching the 800m. Improved onto heels near the 700m and shifted out, racing three wide from that point onwards. PEARLS 'N' PIMMS – Restrained from heels approaching the 700m due to the pace slackening. Struck by the whip of another rider passing the 500m. SLEIGH QUEEN – Obliged to race in restricted room and bumped when racing to the inside of MILIARENSE which shifted in approaching the 200m. CRAZY EYED FRED – Over raced in the early stages. Race 5: MF FREIGHT BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1600 metres CLAY PAN BOOGIE – Raced wide throughout. STAR CHANCE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey M. Butler was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip seven times prior to the 100m, being two more than permitted. BETTER LAD – Held up for clear running for a short distance passing the 100m. EARN OUT – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over raced during the early stages. POSSOVER – Over raced during the early stages. ABOVE THE SKY – Jockey T. Marshall reported at scale that it was not his intention to ride in a forward position today, however, after beginning well and not pressuring his mount, the gelding travelled comfortably in this position. FAT FINGERS – Apprentice B. Wheeler reported that he was disappointed with the filly’s overall performance, stating that it travelled well throughout the event and he was confident the horse would finish strongly when rounding the home turn, however FAT FINGERS did not respond to his riding in the home straight. LET’S PROSPER – Post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a minor abrasion to its off foreleg. Race 6: HAIRHOUSE @ NORTH LAKES QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1000 metres JAMAICAN RUMBA – Approaching the 800m, over raced when following BAG OF WHITT which was steadied, then continued to over race until leaving the 500m. SIMPLY BETTER – Raced wide throughout. APRIL IN AUGUSTA – Raced wide, then forced wider near the 500m. BET LUCY – Began awkwardly and lost significant ground. Shifted in near the 700m, making contact with the running rail, then hung out from that point until entering the home straight. Trainer L. Wanless was advised that nominations at provincial venues for BET LUCY would be refused until the filly’s form improves at country venues. CHILLI PALMER – Shifted in near the 700m, making contact with the running rail, then raced ungenerously until passing the 600m. Trainer L. Wanless was advised that nominations at provincial venues for CHILLI PALMER would be refused until the geldings form improves at country venues. FITZROY PLAIN – Slow to begin. Tightened for room near the 700m when racing to the outside of BET LUCY which shifted out despite the efforts of its rider. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 7: KAWANA PARK EAGLES AFL CLUB RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1000 metres PATRIOTIC KING – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. LUXOR PRINCE – Inconvenienced on jumping. Raced wide throughout and hung out from the 700m. Underwent a post race veterinary examination which revealed the gelding to be displaying signs of heat stress. REGAL CONQUEROR – After passing the 600m, obliged to check from the heels of ZESTAR which had commenced to weaken. Rider B. Thompson reported that he intended being further forward in today’s event, however he was inconvenienced in the early stages and obliged to steady. CLAIRVUE JET – Raced wide throughout. LEGEND I AM – Stood flat footed and lost significant ground. Raced greenly whilst being restrained from heels near the 700m. A LOT OF BOOTY – Began awkwardly. Lost both hind plates in running. ELESPRIT MISS – Inconvenienced on jumping. CARRY ON DRAGON – Lost the near fore plate in running. TICINO BELLE – Raced in restricted room near the 800m and had to be steadied. Race 8: GIRLS FOOTY'S BACK AT KAWANA BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1300 metres MIO SORRENTO – Jockey J. Huxtable was fined $300 under AR132(6)(b) for raising his whip hand above shoulder height.
