GENERAL
 
Stewards permitted the following overweights:
Race 1: M. Hellyer +1kg
Race 5: D. Smith + 1kg
 
Race 2: Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $200 for failing to declare a rider for BLUE MOVES by the prescribed time.
 
Race 1: INTEGRALE HOMES MAIDEN HANDICAP  1800 M
 
SNOW SHOW (NZ) – Raced wide until the 1400m. Rider J. McMurray advised that he was caught wide in the early stages and in an effort to secure cover he was obliged to settle further back in the field than anticipated. He further added that in his opinion the gelding did not run out a strong 1800m.
 
ROTHSPHENE – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
CRUZ DEL SUR (NZ) – Slow to begin. Eased down by its rider in the home straight. Rider D. Thornton advised that the filly did not feel comfortable in its front leg action and for this reason he desisted from pressuring the filly from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer C. Anderson was advised that CRUZ DEL SUR (NZ) would require a veterinary clearance and also would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

LOVE 'N' GAMES – Over-raced in the early stages.
 
 
Race 2: SERENDIPITY FARM QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE  1000 M
 
BELEGATO (NZ) – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
BOLSHEVIC ROAD – Began awkwardly and bumped HEY CHARDONNAY.
 
BRAZEN ACT – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
CLICK CLICK BOOM – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 600m, when racing in restricted room, shifted out and bumped OOHLALOUVRE. Rider C. Graham reported that her mount had a tendency to over-race and was difficult to settle particularly near the 500m where it became very awkward.
 
DRANITZELLE – Bumped at the start.
 
MISTER BLAZE – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 800m, whilst racing greenly, had to be steadied when racing in restricted room between runners.
 
BLUE MOVES – Raced wide with cover.
 
HEY CHARDONNAY – Bumped at the start. Approaching the 200m, whilst weakening was obliged to steady.
 
OOHLALOUVRE – Raced in restricted room approaching the 600m and was then bumped by CLICK CLICK BOOM and had to be steadied. Race wide with cover. Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
 
SKYPORT LANE – Raced wide with cover.
 
TAPATI – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Rider C. Sutherland right ankle contacted the barrier partition.
 
Race 3: SHOWZER BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP  1200 M
 
BILLY'S BRO – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.
 
BORRELLI – Over-raced in the early stages. Steadied leaving the 100m.
 
DEALING'S DONE – Began awkwardly.
 
IOANE (NZ) – Over-raced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.
 
PIVOTAL LAD – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure over the final 150m.
 
ARAMINTA – Slow to begin. Held up entering the home straight and was then disappointed for a run between BORRELLI and FLYING SHELLY, which shifted out and away from BILLY’S BRO, and had to be steadied. Held up for clear running until approaching the 150m.
 
FLYING SHELLY – Raced wide until the 800m.
 
CARRAVILLA - Steadied leaving the 100m.
 
Race 4: CLAYTON’S TOWING MAIDEN HANDICAP  1200 M
OUTRANKED was declared a late scratching at 6:44pm by stewards acting on veterinary advice when the filly had become fractious en-route to the oncourse stalls, shifted both hind plates, stood on a toeclip, puncturing the near-hind hoof and sustaining minor lacerations to both hind legs and tongue.
 
The start of this event was delayed as a result of LAND BANK shifting an off-hind plate and requiring farrier attention.
 
IN NO DOUBT – Improved onto the heels of SHADOW CRUISER at the 400m and was obliged to shit out to improve.
 
LAND BANK – Checked at the 400m when KEY COMPONENT shifted in and away from SOBUTE.
 
THE COPS – Hung out rounding the home turn. Rider G. Cartwright reported that the gelding had a tendency to hang out throughout the race. Trainer D. Bell was advised a warning would be placed on the racing manners of the gelding.
 
VICTORY FLAME - Hampered shortly after the start. Rider B. Wheeler reported his mount raced greenly and failed to muster speed in the early stages.
 
ACHACHA – Began awkwardly. Commenced to over-race approaching the 900m and had to be steadied when PROVANCE shifted in.
 
KEY COMPONENT – Shifted in and away from SOBUTE at the 400m.
 
SOBUTE - Shifted in and away from THE COPS at the 400m.
 
SHADOW CRUISER – Began awkwardly and shifted in.
 
KEEP SAFE – Raced greenly under pressure over the final 200m.
 
HAS BEAN – Began awkwardly.
 
Race 5: GUIDE DOGS. CLASS 3 HANDICAP   1400 M
 
The start of this event was delayed owing to the delay in the previous event.
 
PENTITO – Began awkwardly. Over-raced in the early stages. Approaching the 600m had to be steadied from the heels of CHANCE WITH WOLVES which shifted in when awkwardly placed at the heels of COMMANDMENT(IRE). Approaching the 500m again had to be steadied from the heels of CHANCE WITH WOLVES. Held up rounding the home turn and had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
TREASURER – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure leaving the 200m.
 
BARELLO - Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
AUTUNNO – Slow to begin.
 
FEARLESS THINKING (NZ) – Raced wide throughout.
 
LAVONI – Raced wide with cover.
 
CHANCE WITH WOLVES – Approaching the 600m, shifted in when awkwardly placed at the heels of COMMANDMENT (IRE).
 
 
Race 6: BVW CLASS 1 PLATE  1000 M
 
IRON POWER – Began awkwardly.
 
CRICKETS CHIRPING (NZ) – Over-raced approaching the 700m and had to be steadied. Held up for clear running for majority of the home straight.
 
YEMEAN – Over-raced approaching the 700m.
 
MISS MONEYPENNY – Over-raced approaching the 700m and had to be steadied. Held up rounding the home turn. Held up approaching the 200m and was again held up and unable to secure clear running approaching the 100m.
 
CRESSBROOK – Raced wide with cover.
 
SEEYOU LATER – Raced wide without cover throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off-hind leg. Trainer D. Gafa was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to racing or trialling again.
 
Race 7: GRILL’D HEALTHY BURGERS CLASS 2 HANDICAP  1800 M
 
LIKA WRECKIN' BALL – Rider R. Dolan advised the gelding travelled well until the 600m however was disappointing in its finishing effort and in his opinion may benefit from a spell.
 
MONASTERY – Raced three wide with cover from the 1000m. Tightened for room and became unbalanced approaching the 300m when MADAME LEXUS shifted in and KARIACTION shifted out when being corrected by its rider.
 
KARIACTION – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the presence of blood in both nostrils. Trainer G. Duncan was advised of the provisions of AR79(4) and that KARIACTION would stood down from racing for a period of 3 months and then only after either a gallop of at least 1,000 metres or an official trial or jump-out in the presence, and to the satisfaction of a Steward.
 
NIPPA'S NIGHTCAP – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
LOST MY NIGHTIE – Hampered after start.
 
MADAME LEXIS – Laid in under pressure approaching the 300m.
 
ROCKED – Raced wide without cover throughout. Momentarily inconvenienced approaching the 300m.
 
GINASUE – Slow to begin.
