QUEENSLANDRACING INTEGRITY COMMISSION STEWARDS REPORT ST GEORGE JOCKEY CLUB ST GEORGE – SATURDAY 30th July 2022 WEATHER – Fine TRACK RATING – Dirt RAIL – True OFFICIALS Chairman of Stewards – D LaneStewards – W GlassClerk of Scales – StewardsJudges – G Wippell, J PriceVeterinarian/Sample Collection Official – T GrimmerStarter – J Harvey Race 1: ST GEORGE & DIRRANBANDI COTTON GROWERS/PRECISION AERIAL BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1400 metres MAXIMUM HUSTLE – Trainer W Baker was fined the sum of $100 under the provisions of LR67(1) in that he failed to declare a rider by the prescribed time. Slowly into stride. TERRE DI BIACCO – Apprentice S Stephan reported that the gelding had failed to respond to her riding in the home straight. Underwent a post-race Veterinary examination which revealed no abnormalities. Race 2: ST GEORGE MACHINERY CENTRE CLASS B HANDICAP 1150 metres EIL ‘N’ ALL – Fractious in the barrier. LENROY – Shifted out on jumping bumping with SPO DEE. SPO DEE – Was bumped after jumping when LENROY shifted out. Raced wide for the majority. UNITARY – Steadied after becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of a runner to its front near the 1000m. ARMANI BLAZE – Raced wide for the majority. SUNSOUTGUNSOUT – Raced wide for the majority. Apprentice S Stephan reported that the gelding had lost both of its front plates in the running. Race 3: O’BRIEN TOYOTA QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000 metres. ZIPJAK – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority. CANDY DAWN – Inclined to shift in when placed under pressure down the running. Race 4: CUBBIE AG FLYER OPEN HANDICAP 1000 metres FIRST FAMILY – Shifted out on jumping bumping with PALATE. MOUNTBATTEN – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly. JACKPOT JAY – Slowly away. Shifted out to avoid the kickback near the 700m carring MOUNTBATTEN wider. Jockey R Payne reported that the gelding failed to handle today’s tight circuit. PHIONAIX – Shifted out when placed under pressure down the running inconveniencing NEW ALLIANCE. Jockey H Richardson was advised to exercise more care under similar circumstances. Jockey H Richardson reported that the gelding never felt comfortable on today’s track conditions. PIRACY – Jockey L Miller reported that in his opinion, the gelding had struggled under today’s heavy impost. Race 5: QUEENSLAND COTTON ST GEORGE CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1600 metres JOCHBERG – Shifted in abruptly passing the 100m having to be corrected. TRUMP ME – Raced wide for the majority. BRYNEICH – Trainer Mr M Kropp advised that the gelding never appeared comfortable on today’s track conditions and that in his opinion, is better suited to a heavy surface.
