Race 1: Tropic Distributors / Brennan’s Cattle TPT / Abbott Memorial Class 4 Handicap 1000 metres:
1st – SMOOTH ELEMENT 2nd – ORCHESTRAL PRINCE 3rd – BUSH LAWYER 4th – PRETTY KOOL KAT

HIMALAYAN WOLF was a late withdrawal at 9 am when no rider was available.

When no other rider was available Stewards permitted Jockey A Spradau to ride ORCHESTRAL PRINCE 1kg over it’s declared weight.

When no other rider was available Stewards permitted Jockey T Chambers to ride AZUSA 2kg over it’s declared weight.

BUSH LAWYER – Jumped out at the start bumping another runner.

PRETTY KOOL KAT – Bumped at the start.

RAPID QUALO – Jumped in at the start bumping another runner.

ORCHESTRAL PRINCE – Crowded for room shortly after the start.

Rounding the turn near the 850 metres FLAMINGO ROSE (Jockey T Hill) had to be steadied when racing tight to the inside of ORCHESTRAL PRINCE (Jockey A Spradau), which shifted in away from BUSH LAWYER (Jockey D Ballard) which shifted in when not quite clear. Jockey Ballard was advised to exercise more care in future.

Race 2: MD Hunter Earthmoving / Suncity Yamaha / GR Terry Memorial QTIS Maiden Plate 1000 metres:
1st – COPPER COIN 2nd – JUST PRETENDS 3rd – THE SMUGGLER 4th – VEGANER

STRIKE THE FUSE & TIME AND CHANCE were late withdrawals at 9 am when no rider was available.

TALE OF FORTUNE was a late scratching at 2pm on veterinary advice. When correct weight was declared it was ordered that all bets placed on TALE OF FORTUNE be refunded in full and all other successful bets made on the race prior to 2.00pm be subject to the following deductions of 27c win and 25c place on the face value of the betting ticket.

COPPER COIN – Shifted out abruptly at the start.

JUST PRETENDS – Shifted out abruptly at the start bumping another runner.

VEGANER – Crowded for room shortly after the start.

Race 3: Northern Rural Group Ladies Bracelet Class B Handicap 800 metres:
1st – HONEY CAT 2nd – MADE TO WIN 3rd – SPURS ON 4th – THE RED SHOE

HOOFBEATS was a late withdrawal at 9 am when no suitable rider was available.

When no other rider was available Stewards permitted Jockey D Ballard to ride STRIKE THE FUSE 2.5kg over it’s declared weight.

When no other rider was available Stewards permitted Jockey A Spradau to ride STAR ODYSSEY 1kg over it’s declared weight.

STAR ODYSSEY – Slow to begin.

Race 4: Volvo Commercial Vehicles Benchmark 50 Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – SPLASH OUT 2nd – DIURNAL TIGER 3rd – FRISKY CRUISER 4th – WULFWIN

HOOFBEATS was a late withdrawal at 12.30pm when no rider was available.

Prior to the declaration of Correct Weight Jockey S McCullum the rider of FRISKY CRUISER requested to view the photo of the finish. After doing so he was satisfied and Correct Weight was declared on the judge’s placings.

MONTH OF SUNDAYS – Crowded for room over the final 50 metres and went to the line without being fully tested.

Race 5: Campbell’s Grazing Co / Hughenden Supermarket Stamford Cup Open Handicap 1200 metres:
1st – TRAVEL IN STYLE 2nd – ISLE BE READY 3rd – FIVE O’CLOCK 4th – SMOOTH GENERAL
