STEWARDS REPORT - SATURDAY, 5th AUGUST, 2000

WEATHER:OVERCAST TRACK: GOOD

GENERAL


RACING
RACE 1 OPEN HCP. 800 METRES - (6 STARTERS):. At the start DARING MISS (P. Moodie) knuckled over resulting in that mare being slow to begin.

Shortly after the start TRUST CARD (D. Rewald) brushed DARING MISS.

HIGH VALOUR (D. Johnston) was raced wide throughout.

RACE 2 CLASS 2 HCP. 800 METRES - (6 STARTERS):. At the start WHO’S CARING (M. Goodwin) was badly hampered as a result of SPEED FLIRT (S. Quick) jumping out and THORNLEIGH TRUMP (P. Moodie) jumping inwards.

RACE 3 MAIDEN HCP. 1200 METRES - (5 STARTERS): Over the concluding stages JUST A LOVE (D. Lloyd) was obliged to ease his mount when placed in restricted running between KWILA’S MISS (J. Stephens) which shifted out marginally under pressure and AMOLINE (P. Rewald) which was inclined to shift in under pressure.

RACE 4 CLASS 3 HCP. 1200 METRES - (10 STARTERS): No racing incidents.

RACE 5 OPEN HCP. 1600 METRES – (12 STARTERS): At the start OUT OF THE RED (D. Lloyd) was slow to begin. D. Lloyd the rider of OUT OF THE RED reported to stewards on return to scale, that he felt that the gate struck the gelding on its way out of the barriers.

FLYING FEATHER (D. Rewald) raced fiercely in the early stages.

Over the concluding stages NEARTIST (N. Evans) failed to obtain clear running.

MERRY EMPEROR (E. Heinemann) was obliged to steady when making contact with CULATER (M. Goodwin) which improved quickly to its inside.

RACE 6 CLASS 4 HCP. 1400 METRES – (8 STARTERS): No racing incidents.

BOOKMAKERS: Four bookmakers fielded at the race meeting.

SWABBING: All winners were sent to be swabbed and those obtained forwarded to the Racing Science Centre for routine analysis.
