Race 1: www.townsvilleturfcluib.com.au QTIS 3-Y-O Handicap ¬- 1200 metres
1st – CRAIGLEA DEKEN 2nd – RYLEE’S SAGA 3rd – LILLY KAREENA 4th – NIC’S DRAGON

RYLEE’S SAGA – Whilst returning to scale Apprentice M. Murphy was dislodged from his mount and was attended to by the Ambulance Officer. Acting under the provisions of A.R. 142, stewards deemed that it was impracticable for Apprentice Murphy to weigh in and were of the opinion that he had carried his correct weight. Apprentice Murphy was again examined by the Ambulance Officer and cleared to fulfil his further engagements.

TURN UP THE VOLUME – Bumped at the start.

NIC’S DRAGON – Bumped at the start.

WICKED CRIME – When questioned regarding the poor performance Jockey N. Day stated that his mount never travelled at any stage of the race, despite his vigorous urgings, and was most disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. A swab sample was taken. Trainer Mr R. Long said that the gelding will now be spelled.

Race 2: The Coffee Club Marquee On Sale Now Maiden Handicap - 1200 metres
1st – GOLD CLAIM 2nd - SOME SUNNYDAY 3rd – AUTHADANE 4th – MISS HAVISHAM

ENDING REIGN – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

RED SOLO – Slow to begin.

When the pace steadied rounding the turn near the 900 metres MOLONGLE JOY, MISS HAVISHAM and AUTHADANE all commenced to over-race.

MISS HAVISHAM – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.

AUTHADANE – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout whilst over-racing.

Jockey W. D’Avila pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under A.R. 137(a) in that passing the 200 metres he allowed AUTHADANE to shift in whilst riding it along when insufficiently clear of MISS HAVISHAM (Jockey G. Kliese), which had to be steadied to avoid the heels of that runner. Jockey D’Avila was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight on Saturday 18th June 2016, up to and including Tuesday 28th June 2016.

Race 3: Townsville Bulletin Class 1 Handicap – 1300 metres
1st – HELOW TUCKER 2nd – OUR LITTLE MIRACLE 3rd – CARLINO’S WAY 4th - ZIGGY’S SPIRIT

The declaration of correct weight was delayed to allow Jockey G. Kliese, the rider of OUR LITTLE MIRACLE which finished 2nd, and Jockey P. Cullen, the rider of CARLINO’S WAY which finished 3rd, to view the official video films to determine whether to lodge objections against HELOW TUCKER (Jockey S. Wiseman) being declared the winner. Having done so, both riders elected not to lodge a protest, and correct weight was declared on the judge’s placings.

OUR LITTLE MIRACLE – Fractious in the barriers, shifted in very abruptly at the start and made heavy contact with the dividing partition, then shortly afterwards was crowded for room. For a short distance approaching the 100 metres raced in restricted room.

WHO’S YOUR CADDY - On returning to scale Jockey D. Simmons reported that his mount was inclined to lay out throughout the event and placed him at a distinct disadvantage. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding required dental treatment. Trainer Mr R. Tapiolas was told that a warning will be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.

CARLINO’S WAY – Passing the 700 metres improved onto heels and had to be steadied.

Jockey W. D’Avila pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that rounding the home turn he allowed MARTHA’S MOMENT to shift out when insufficiently clear of HELOW TUCKER (Jockey S. Wiseman), which was bumped heavily, became unbalanced and shifted out into the running of CARLINO’S WAY (Jockey P. Cullen). Jockey D’Avila was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight on Saturday 18th June 2016, up to and including 30th June 2016, to be served concurrently with the suspension imposed in Race 2.
