Race 1: Become A Member of TTC QTIS 2-Y-O Handicap ¬- 1000 metres
1st – TYZONE 2nd – CRAIGLEA GHETTO 3rd – OURBOYBYRON 4th – LIKER

CRAIGLEA AMITY – Fractious in the barriers and began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Stable representative Mr S. Johnston said that, following the poor performance, the filly will now be spelled.

MUST BE OBEYED – Slow to begin.

SHORT TERM– On returning to scales Jockey F. Edwards reported that his mount raced greenly throughout. Jockey F. Edwards was reprimanded under A.R. 137A(5)(a)(i) for using his whip on the gelding on 2 consecutive strides.

TYZONE - Rounding the turn near the 500 metres improved onto heels and had to be steadied.

OURBOYBYRON – Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: Ladies Day Coffee Club Marquee On Sale Now QTIS 3-Y-O Maiden Handicap - 1000 metres
1st – LITTLE RED CORVETE 2nd - MISHANI PILOT 3rd – WILL HE TORQUE 4th – FATAL FINALE

TERRE MIA – When leaving the enclosure the filly dislodged its rider, Apprentice M. KAI, before being quickly captured. The filly was examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and passed fit. After arriving behind the barriers TERRA MIA reared over and again dislodged its rider. Stewards ordered the late withdrawal of the filly at 12.43 p.m. Subsequently they ordered that all bets made on TERRE MIA be refunded and that the following deductions apply.

Trainer Ms C. Lindgren was told that prior to racing again the filly must trial to the satisfaction of stewards.

COPPER COIN – Buffeted between runners at the start. Passing the 600 metres raced keenly to the inside of another runner and had to be steadied.

LITTLE RED CORVETE – Shifted out at the start and made contact with another runner.

DORA’S MAGIC – Was bumped at the start.

MOLONGLE JOY – Began awkwardly.

VLADIMIR – Began awkwardly. Passing the 800 metres was carried wider and thereafter was inclined to lay out.

HURAI – Passing the 800 metres when racing greenly shifted out abruptly and hampered another runner. Then continued to race greenly in the straight and was reluctant to hold its position between runners.

WILL HE TORQUE – On returning to scale Jockey S. Wiseman reported that rounding the home turn her saddle shifted back badly, placing her at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race.

Race 3: The Coffee Club Maiden Handicap – 1300 metres
1st – MISS HAVISHAM 2nd – AUTHADANE 3rd – MYSTIC HARMONY/HUMPTY BUMPTY (DH)

DAESY DANORO – Slow to begin.

TRY BEFORE DUBAI – Began awkwardly. When the pace slowed rounding the turn near the 900 metres improved to the inside of another runner and had to be checked, then continued to over-race for some distance. Passing the 400 metres had to be steadied when momentarily crowded between runners. Following the race Jockey B. Thomson reported that the gelding had got its tongue over the bit.

MONASHEE LASS – Knuckled shortly after the start.

AUTHADANE – Shifted out at the start and bumped another runner. After being crossed in the early stages commenced to over-race and refused to settle.

GENERAL BEERS – When the pace slowed near the 900 metres over-raced and had to be steadied.

HE’S HARADA’S SON – Bumped at the start.

MYSTIC HARMONY – Was held up in the early part of the home straight and then passing the 200 metres had to be shifted out to obtain clear running.

EIRIAN – When questioned regarding the disappointing performance, Apprentice C. Jokic explained that after beginning only fairly she rode her mount along in the early stages in an attempt to obtain a prominent position, however when the pace slowed in the middle stages the mare commenced to over-race, was inclined to hang out and refused to settle. She said that when placed under pressure prior to straightening, her mount failed to respond and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have lost its near hind place and to have been galloped on.

Race 4: Energy Power Systems Class 2 Handicap – 1300 metres
1st – KENNYNOPAS 2nd – UNION JUKEBOX 3rd – CARLINO’S WAY 4th – DEE MINISHING

NARSONS DUKE – Slow to begin.

Rounding the turn near the 900 metres REGAL ROTH (Jockey D. Simmons) had to be steadied to avoid the heels of ALAWA (Apprentice M. Murphy), which shifted in. Apprentice Murphy was reprimanded and advised to take more care.

DEE MINISHING – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight.

Race 5: Arron Pope Excavaton Hire Class 1 Handicap - 1000 metres
1st – LADY SIOUX 2nd – DUKE CELESTE 3rd – RICH’N’FAMOUS 4th – FLYING IGGY

LADY SIOUX – Resuming from a lengthy spell. Examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field.

DUKE CELESTE – Crowded for room at the start.

ROSIE’S COMMAND – Began awkwardly.

HIDDEN REIGN – Shifted out at the start and made contact with another runner.

Passing the 700 metres ROUND THE CORNER (Jockey W. D’Avila) shifted in away from FLYING IGGY (Jockey S. Wilson), placing DUKE CELESTE (Jockey D. Hayse) in restricted room.

Over the concluding stages HIDDEN REIGN (Jockey S. Wiseman) had to be checked when crowded by ROUND THE CORNER (Jockey W. D’Avila), which was inclined to shift in away from KIRABO (Apprentice M. Murphy).

GINA BALLERINA – Was inclined to lay out throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be sore in front. Trainer Mr J. Manzelmann will be told that he must provide a veterinary certificate of fitness before GINA BALLERINA will be permitted to race again.

KIRABO – When questioned regarding the performance Apprentice M. Murphy explained that his mount never travelled comfortably at any stage, was inclined to lay out and in his opinion did not handle this way of going for the first time. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

Race 6: Across Floors BenchMark 70 Handicap – 1200 metres
1st – VALLEY ROSE 2nd – PRETTY VACANT 3rd – ROCHALLOR 4th – LOVER OF LIFE

LOVER OF LIFE – Approaching the 200 metres was momentarily inconvenienced.

TIERES ROCK – Jockey P. Cullen reported that his mount was inclined to lay in throughout the event.

Race 7: Amusements Plus Open Handicap – 1400 metres
1st – ROCKNET 2nd FIESTY BELLE – 3rd – MOUNTAIN VIEW 4th – ROWEINER

CHATEAU DETTORI - Crowded for room shortly after the start. Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight.

FIESTY BELLE – Passing the 700 metres was momentarily tightened for room.

ROWEINER – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the home straight.

MOUNTAIN VIEW – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

GUNDY STAR - A post-race veterinary examination, which weakened in the home straight, did not reveal any abnormalities.

Race 8: Ardent Office Equipment BenchMark 60 Handicap – 1609 metres
1st – STANDFORD 2nd – CRACOW 3rd – ALDREN 4th – GO GIRLFRIEND

THE PRINCIPAL – Was crowded for room at the start, then had to be checked. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn, and was again held up from the 200 metres and went to the finish without being fully tested.

STANDFORD – Slow to begin.

AVIATOR GIRL – Pulled hard in the early stages.

CRAIGLEA FOCUS – For some distance passing the 1300 metres bumped with another runner on numerous occasions. Over the final few strides had to be restrained when racing tight to the inside of another runner.

ALDREN – Passing the 1300 metres was bumped and then obliged to race 3 wide without cover.

CRACOW – Passing the 500 metres improved into a narrow run and had to be steadied.
