Jokic, the rider of ALBERT THE ROCKET which finished 5th, against FLAT TO STACK (Apprentice S. Fawke) being declared 4th, alleging interference in the home straight. After taking evidence from the parties involved, viewing the official video films and taking into account their own observations, stewards established that shortly after straightening FLAT TO STACK shifted in towards the running of ALBERT THE ROCKET and momentarily crowded the running of that gelding. However, bearing in mind the margin of ¾ of a length between the two runners and the manner in which both horses went to the finish, stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that had the interference not occurred ALBERT THE ROCKET would have finished ahead of FLAT TO STACK. Accordingly, the protest was dismissed and the judge’s placings ordered to stand.ALBERT THE ROCKET – Slow to begin.WATCH ME DAZZLE EM – Began awkwardly, then was bumped shortly after.LOVE RED – Crowded for room shortly after the start.
