Kliese). When questioned Jockey W. D’Avila said that after beginning awkwardly he rode his mount along to take up a forward position, however it then commenced to over-race and refused to settle in the middle stages. He said that passing the 200 metres his mount became awkward in its action and weakened noticeably from that point. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr M. Lee will be interviewed regarding the performance.ALBERT THE ROCKET – Bumped at the start.MISHANI BELIEVER – Bumped at the start. Inside the 100 metres Jockey D. Simmons momentarily lost the use of his whip when it became entangled in the nearside rein.SEDUCTIVE DREAM – Jockey F. Edwards was fined $100 under A.R. 137A(5)(a)(i) for using his whip on the filly in 2 consecutive strides prior to the 100 metres.Race 2: McDonalds Stockland, Castletown Maiden Plate – 1000 metres1st – I WANNA BREAK FREE 2nd - CHAT TIME 3rd – SECOND TIME AROUND 4th – MITCHY’S INSTINCT SNAPPY LEGEND – At the start had to be severely checked when crowded between TRY BEFORE DUBAI (Apprentice L. Attard) and CLEVFILLY (Apprentice C. Jokic), both of which shifted ground.OUR RECIPE – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 400 metres was inclined to hang out, then had to be checked across the heels of RIPPIN ‘’N’ TEARIN (Jockey F. Edwards), which shifted in whilst racing greenly.BOLT ON BY – Slow to begin.WHAT’S HAPPENIN’ – Slow to begin.Joining the course proper, near the 700 metres, AZI (Jockey J. Lambie), which was racing greenly, shifted out abruptly and crowded HEZLETT (Jockey W. D’Avila) out onto SNAPPY LEGEND (Jockey P. Cullen).HEZLETT – Passing the 600 metres had to be steadied when racing tight between SNAPPY LEGEND and RIPPIN ‘N’ TEARIN (Jockey F. Edwards), which shifted out slightly.CLEVFILLY - Shortly after straightening had to be steadied when disappointed for a run between OUR RECIPE (Apprentice C. Jokic) and BOLT ON BY (Apprentice R. Payne). Race 3: Achieve Exercise Physiologists BenckMark 65 Handicap – 1600 metres 1st – HILARIOUS HONOUR 2nd – BO ROSSA 3rd - ROCHALLOR 4th - ETRANGERE ETRANGERE – Began awkwardly.BO ROSSA – Shifted out at the start and made contact with ISLAND BAR.ISLAND BAR – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.SUNBURY – When questioned about the seemingly disappointing performance, Jockey A. Coome explained that his mount was not suited by the slowly run race and the heavy impost of 60.5 kg, and consequently did not finish off the race as anticipated. Race 4: Strand Fitness Fillies and Mares Class 1 Handicap – 1000 metres1st – CHINA TOWN 2nd – THE TEENY HASS 3r d – DELTA MAGIC 4th – SHE’S WANTED BONNIE BON BON - Slow to begin.OUT OF THE BLUE – Slow to begin.LA DIOSA – Knuckled shortly after the start.CHINA TOWN – Slow to begin.Rounding the turn near the 400 metres KAP IT OFF (Apprentice R. Payne), which was inclined to hang out, had to be checked when racing tight to the inside of LA DIOSA (Jockey M. Hayey), which was racing tight to the inside of FOREST GAZELLE (Jockey B. Thomson), which was directed inwards marginally by OCEAN LINER (Jockey D. Sparks). For some distance after this KAP IT OFF continued to hang out and placed its rider at a disadvantage. In all the circumstances, Jockey Sparks was advised to ensure he leaves sufficient racing room for runners to his inside.Race 5: Mission Beach Resort Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 1 Handicap - 1000 metres1st – WORK OF WORDS 2nd – VAUNTING 3rd – HELLO HARRA 4th – MORE GEORGEWORK OF WORDS – Jockey J. Lambie was reprimanded under A.R. 137A(4)(b) for using an whip action that raised his arm above shoulder height. In assessing penalty stewards took into account Jockey Lambie’s good record in relation to the rule.PROSPERUM - Began awkwardly and lost ground. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Inside the final 100 metres raced in restricted room and could not be fully tested.COBUNGRA BOY – Raced wide without cover throughout.MORE GEORGE – Held up in the early part of the straight and did not obtain clear running until passing the 200 metres.IMPERIAL ATTITUDE – Lost its near fore plate near the 800 metres. When questioned regarding the poor performance, Jockey D. Simmons said that after beginning awkwardly with its head up, his munt was then able to obtain a leading position, where it travelled comfortably throughout.
