Jockey Aho explained that her instructions were to go forward, which she attempted to do, however she was forced to travel wide from the 800 metres and as a result the horse was unable to finish off its race. Stewards advised Jockey Aho that, rather than ride her mount along vigorously out wide, in their opinion a better option would have been to tack onto the field and endeavour to obtain running close to the running rail. Trainer Mr M. Whitehouse confirmed the instructions were to go forward with the horse, as he believed this to be the best way for the horse to be ridden, as it needs clear running at all times.
