Warren SUPPLEMENTRY REPORT Mackay 9 January 2018 Race 3 Become A Member MTC Class 4 H’cap – 1200m Trainer R. Bowen advised Stewards that after a further examination after returning to his stables, KING TORIO which competed in the above race was found to have a stone bruise in its off hind hoof. Mr Bowen was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to the horse being permitted to race again. GENERALAs J. Stanley was not riding at today’s meeting due to personal reasons, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary. As J. Lambie was not riding at today’s meeting due to injury, riding changes were made as per the Stewards Summary. Race 1: 1:10PM Townsvilleturfclub.com.au QTIS 2yo H’cap – 1000m CRAIGLEA ARION – Slow to begin. FLINDERS HIGHWAY – Had a tendency to hang out approaching and rounding the home turn. ROYAL COMEDY – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. Race 2: 1:45PM Parry NQ Maiden H’cap – 1300m SOME SUNNYDAY – The start was delayed slightly when apprentice M. Murphy requested his reins be replaced. Raced 4 wide without cover for the majority of the race. FRENCH BUBBLES – Slow to begin. Over-raced for a short distance after the start. GREEK ROSE – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels near the 900m and had to be checked for some distance. GROHL – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels near the 800m and had to be steadied. LEIGHWAY – Held up for clear running leaving the 400m and was hampered by another runner which hung out. HOT PROSPECT – Raced wide for the majority of the race. REVERBERATING – Connections advised stewards that it was their intention to ride the horse off the pace if possible. After the horse began very well and commenced to over-race and shared the lead, apprentice Q. Krogh was unable to settle the horse. Hung out rounding the home turn, hampering another runner. Raced ungenerously to a point near the 200m. Trainer L. McCormack was advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s racing manners. Race 3: 2:25 PM Byrnes Holdings Open H’cap – 1400m SHEER PERSISTENCE – Began awkwardly and shifted in, bumping another runner. GREEN ANCHOR – Bumped on the hind quarters on jumping away. Laid out rounding the home turn, continued to do so when placed under pressure in the home straight. KWANZA – Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Race 4: 3:05 PM Rowans Body Works Ratings Band 0-55 H’cap – 1400m BOCAGE – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages. DONAVIA – Bumped shortly after the start with another runner. Raced wide for the majority of the race. RED CALVARY – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Threw its head in the air when being restrained near the 1100m. Improved onto heels approaching the 1000m and had to be steadied. MAIN SHAFT – Laid out under pressure in the home straight. MORE THAN KALOOKAN – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer J. Campeao advised Stewards it his it is intention that the gelding now be retired from racing. Nonetheless, Mr Campeao was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required should the horse return to racing. Race 5: 3:40 PM Great Northern QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1000m WICKED MISTRESS – Shifted out abruptly on jumping despite the efforts of its rider, inconveniencing runners to its outside. CRAIGLEA PATIENCE – Due to Workcover regulations, jockey P. Cullen was only able to take 3 riding engagements today and as such was replaced by D. Sparks. Severely tightened for room between runners on jumping away. FEMALE OFFICER – Bumped heavily with other runners on jumping. ROTHSTOCK’N’BELLA – Bumped on the hind quarters and became unbalanced on jumping away. EKTASTIC – Slow to begin. REACTANT – Shifted outwards at the start bumping another runner. PALM SPRINGS – Bumped by another runner at the start. MISPRINT – Jumped outwards at the start, making heavy contact with another runner and lost ground. INDELICACY – Jumped inwards at the start, making heavy contact with another runner. Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race. FIELDS AVENUE – Began awkwardly. SOME FAIRY SONG – After being slow to begin, was severely tightened for room and lost ground. After trailing the field throughout the event and being beaten by a considerable distance, trainer T. Kenny was advised the filly’s nomination would refused at TAB meeting until such as the horses performances improve by way of country meetings. CRAIGLEA NEO – Raced 4 wide without cover for the majority of the race. Race 6: 4:15 PM Growyourwealth.com.au Ratings Band 0-60 H’cap - 1000m MOLONGLE FIRE – As G. Kliese was to be overweight, he was replaced by rider D. Sparks. Jockey G. Kliese was fined $100. The advertised gear for the horse was shown as a brow band and ear muffs for first time, however as both pieces of gear are not permitted to be used in tandem under AR140B, the horse raced without a brow band. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race. BELLA SASH – The advertised gear for the horse was shown as a brow band and blinkers, however as both pieces of gear are not permitted to be used in tandem, under AR140B, the horse raced without a brow band. RAINING DOLLARS – Slow to begin. BLAZING TALES – Slow to begin and bumped by another runner at the start. SEEKTOWIN – Shifted out on jumping away and bumped another runner. OUR LITTLE MIRACLE – Raced wide without cover for the majority of the race. Race 7: 4:50 PM Katsanevas Painting Class 3 Plate – 1200m JERRAZZ – Began awkwardly. Rider S. Wilson advised stewards on return to scale he was of the opinion that the mare may have got its tongue over the bit during running. Connections advised it would be their intention to experiment with gear changes prior to its next race start. DAMKY – Raced 3 wide without cover for the majority of the race. Lost its off fore plate during the race. MEDIEVAL – Raced wide for the majority of the race. MAGIC BELINDA – Rider B. Thompson advised stewards she was of the opinion the mare was awkward in its action over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
