General
 
Jockey N. Day, who was unable to attend today’s race meeting due to personal reasons was replaced as follows per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: Wulguru United Football Club QTIS 3yo Maiden H’cap – 1200m
 
EXCITING HEIGHTS – Began awkwardly. Inconvenienced when tightened for room between runners soon after jumping. Inclined to over-race for a short distance near the 1000m. Shifted in under riding near the 100m, causing tightening to inside runners. Jockey L. Tilley was advised to stop riding and straighten his mounts in similar circumstances.
 
EDITH MARGARET – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.
 
SHOW ME YOURS – Began awkwardly. Attempted to buck soon after the start. start. Rider J. Taylor advised that the filly was inclined to  hang in for the majority of the event, placing him at a disadvantage. Trainer Mr A. Cameron was advised that the filly would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
 
SWEET JUNE – Inclined to race ungenerously passing the 900m. Was inconvenienced when  taken in by another runner near the 100m.
 
OSBECK – Was tiring near the 100m when tightened by another runner which had been taken in.  
 
Race 2:  Swans Lagoon Pastoral Co BM65 H’cap – 1609m
 
CENTRO SUPERIOR – Raced 3 wide from the 900m. Momentarily held up for clear running near the 200m. Apprentice N. Fazackerley was of the opinion that the gelding would be better suited over distances longer than that of today’s event. 
 
ZUMARI – Restrained off heels near the 550m.  Slightly inconvenienced when crowded by another runner approaching the winning post.
 
MEXICAN MOUNTAIN – Rider J. Felix was cautioned in relation to his use of the whip approaching the 100m.
 
FORGIVE ME – Rider L. Tilley advised that the gelding was inclined to hang for the majority of the event, placing him at a disadvantage. Trainer L. Gordy was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
 
Race 3: Greenscene Fencing & Paving Maiden H’cap – 1000m
 
BLUMISS – Shifted out, bumping another runner on jumping.
 
CINEMATOGRAPHY – Shifted in, bumping with another runner on jumping. Bumped with another runner near the 400m.  Rider C. Jokic was of the opinion that the mare may have got its tongue over the bit in running. Trainer M. McGuire advised he will implement a gear change prior to the mare’s next race start.
 
VEHEMENT – Slowly away after being fractious in the barriers. Raced wide form the 550m.
 
WONDERLIC – Jockey L. Tilley advised that the filly hung in for the majority of the race, placing him at a disadvantage. Shifted in near the 800m despite the efforts of jockey Tilley, hampering another runner.  A post race veterinary examination  revealed the filly to have pulled up in respiratory distress.  Trainer’s representative Ms L. Manzelmann was advised that a veterinary clearance would be required prior to its next race start.
 
MERCURY BULLET – Hampered near the 800m by another runner, which shifted in.
 
PARK HUSSLER – Was hampered when placed in restricted room near the 400m. When questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance, trainer M. Whitehouse advised that the mare was back to a more favourable distance today and has trouble running a strong 1200m which was the case after being caught wide last start at Cairns. Mr Whitehouse’s comments were noted.
 
GOOD AS DONE – Became unbalanced after bumping with another runner near the 400m.
 
TRAVERS – Jockey S. Sheargold advised that the gelding had been inclined to hang out and as a result had raced wide for the majority of the race, placing him at a disadvantage.  
 
 
Race 4: Feed 2 Go Class 4 H’cap – 1200m
 
SUGAR RAY RED – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.
 
SYAMANTAKA MANI – Began awkwardly. Became unbalanced when racing in restricted room passing the 1000m. Raced ungenerously rounding the home turn.
 
SONIC SWISH – Bumped by another runner near the 500m.
 
BLAZING STEEL – Bumped with another runner near the 500m.
 
GOLD TORQUE – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Race 5: Distribution Direct Pty Ltd H’cap – 1000m
 
DON’T TELL PETE – Slowly away.
 
SEPTIMO – Slowly away. Tightened for room between runners soon after the start.
 
CONCLUDER – Inclined to lay in under pressure down the running.
 
FOUR EXCEL – Raced 3 wide for the majority of the race.
 
MORE THAN A SONG – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
Following the running of this race the track rating was upgraded to Good 4.
 
Race 6: Tony Ireland Holden Class 2 Plate – 1000m
 
GOLDEN GUARDIAN – Jockey D Adam, who reported ill prior to the race, was replaced by jockey L. Tilley. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
CEEBIZ KIT – Slowly away.
 
TOBASCO – Shifted out on jumping away.
 
LATTIMER – Shifted in on jumping away. Inconvenienced soon after the start by another runner which shifted out.
 
LEIGHWAY – Soon after the start shifted out, inconveniencing runners to its outside. Hampered near the 200m by another runner which shifted out. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
HARVEST PRIDE – Inconvenienced soon after the start by another runner which shifted out. Was inclined to lay in near the 1000m despite the efforts of its rider, B. Thomson. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
LITTLE RED CORVETE – Shifted out around heels near the 200m, hampering another runner. Jockey S. Wilson was reprimanded for careless riding.
 
HOT SHOT HARRY – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
 
Race 7:  Wedding Venues Townsville Turf Club MB55 H’cap – 1300m
 
LOVE ME RUBY – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.
 
MARTIAL ART – Slowly away after beginning awkwardly.
 
PURRFECT TYCOON – Slowly away. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
CRAIGLEA GHETTO – Began awkwardly. Raced very ungenerously in the early and middle stages.
 
METAZOA – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
BELORUM – Raced wide from the 550m.
 
SUNNY CHIEF – Hung in and away from another runner near the 200m. Raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
LORD ARCHER – Raced wide for the majority of the race.
